Re: WELPING MATS
Mark, hope all is well!
I use the Lectro heating mats with Temperature Control. Size wise about half the box size I recommend. That way the dam can lay in the box off the mat if she's too warm and the pups can stay on it. I get them from whoever is cheapest be it ebay, amazon, and etc.

Re: ????
I have a female that I ran at a Non-Sanctioned trial. The female is tough, clean, flows on the track, chops every breath, and will claim a check quick. She's a nitty and gritty tear up the briars on her belly hunter, excellent search. Anyhow, I thought she looked good eating up most of the checks. S...

Re: lyme disease shot queation???
No vet or anyone to date can say the shot will prevent a dog from coming down with full blown Lyme disease. You can buy a full bottle of Doxycycline for what the shot costs (maybe cheaper). I probally deal with Lyme 1-4 times each year. I can say for sure once a dog is exposed to Lyme (tests positiv...

Re: lyme disease shot queation???
Here's a good read on Lyme http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_lyme_disease.html Lyme disease in the dog is an infection for which over 90% of infected dogs will never get sick and the 5-10% that do get sick can be easily treated with a safe inexpensive course of antibiotics. This situation would s...

Re: Solo - Brace - Pack...
Each dog being different there's no golden rule. If a young hound will stick a check hard I'd prefer to solo them and let them just figure it out. Some from inexperience or confidence will work it well but give up on a very hard check. I prefer to run a a brace mate with those. The quality of the br...

Re: I have a bad bag of BlackGold Puppy chow?
I've posted before that I've fed Black Gold and several dogs began to litterally starve to death. This was years ago... I guess quality hasn't improved at the same rate as their price increases.

Re: baby rabbits in Mi.
Here in South Central PA I normally see baby rabbits feeding on grass strips like crazy about now. None... I think the rain did a lot of damage. I saw a young one a few days ago but that's been it so far. mosquitoes are the absoloute worst I've seen almost unbearable.
