You can do a simple search and get your questions answered. I will say that you have not been around many registered beagles if you think they all do not have hunt.

I'll take a 22 if I'm going all by myself in a safe area and don't want to clean many rabbits. If I am w/ a group and trying to harvest rabbits I'll take a scatter gun.

If I running just my hounds I run w/ 2 - 5, just depending. A lot of times I have just a 1 - 2 hours for a quick run and I'll just take 2 hounds out as it is easier to mess w/. I do use e-collars when needed and bells most of the time.
