Thanks Fuzz - do you know if Blue Syris is close to a FC? Also, what are your on how he runs, mouth, hunt, etc.? I have a pup out of him and a SuperDog bitch that is doing real well.

Darrin - I agree w/ you in regards to Super Dog adding the hunt! I saw Syris in the kennel, but regret that he died before I got a chance to watch him run or to hunt w/ him. From what I understand (talking w/ those that handled him and watched him a number of times), Syris was not a briar - busting ...

I have two Syris bred hounds and they are both hard hunters and desire to be the one to jump the rabbit. One is out of a Super Dog bitch and he is a briar busten machine! The other is more of a "smart jump dog" and isn't as much of a bull dozer. Overall, I am very pleased w/ them.

I have a hound out of a SuperDog bitch that is a hunting machine - non-stop all day long. Not afraid of briars - or anything for that matter. He is a very focused dog - determined to jumped the rabbit and then determined to run the hair off of it!

I have a hound that I thought was pretty ugly - now that I got him started, he is a hunting, running machine and doing a great job - and you know he doesn't look half bad!.

Sounds like to me the dog is not necessarily gun shy, but that the shot does break his concentration and causing him to loose the rabbit. When you found him hunting I'd guess he was trying to work out the loss. Just my guess w/out seeing it first hand.
