James- Used correctly they will save you a lot of time and heartache! What I would suggest is that you really limit what you use the collars for and not shock the hounds for every little thing. I can not comment on any but Tri-tronics as that is all I have used. And will second what Darrin has said - the customer service at Tri-tronics is outstanding! It is reasuring to know that they stand behind their product if you have any problems. :)

A thought on building better brush piles is to put out some pallets and then pile brush on top of them. You probably can get busted up pallets for nothing and they will provide security from preditors.
