Re: Gerber Small Game Shears GET A BIG THUMBS DOWN!!

Huntall50, I recommend and use heavy duty Game Shears not Hedge Shears - LOL but admit, we run more than we shoot. The shears appear to be well made and holding a sharp edge.

Re: Gerber Small Game Shears GET A BIG THUMBS DOWN!!

Joeyman, We use heavy duty Game Shears by Outdoor Edge. They are built strong and are holding a good edge after being used on about 10 rabbits. The shears come with a nylon sheath and are offered for sale by Cabelas. So far, a worthy $20. investment. Bob B&D Kennels "Where controlled speed is apprec...

TRITRONICS LOST COLLAR

This past Saturday, while hunting a very heavy briar patch area, one of my females lost her Tritronics collar with the G2 receiver and bell. :annoyed: It was the stock collar which came with a 2008 G2 system. Has this happened to anyone else :?: Do you have any suggestions to help prevent another lo...

QUESTION - YOUNG HOUNDS DEVELOPING THEIR SKILLS

I would first like to give a little background before I ask a question. I have owned hounds since I was a youngster and after a 10 yr layoff, I am getting back to it. Bird dogs were fun but I am now back to my true love. I and my son, most of the time, run a small pack of 3 females, 1 yr, 1 1/2 yrs ...

Re: 3 year old female reg.White and red good rabbit dog

newbeagler,
This seems like a pretty good female. What are her faults other than UKC only? Is she healthy and in shape?
Thanks, Bob

Re: reloader questions

nb11, I use to travel around the eastern part of the US shooting competition trap. I reloaded thousands of 12 guage AA trap shells though 2 reloaders I found the most trustworthy, a Mec 650 and a Pacific 366. Both were what you call progressive reloaders. I believe there are still 3 basic reloaders,...

Mark, I am still trying to figure out how you handle the camera as well as you do one handed? I agree, terrific stuff and very nice handling hounds.

Re: YOUNG COLD TRAILING HOUND

I took my young female out this morning with 2 other hounds. She jumped all 4 rabbits we ran in 2 1/2 hrs with one minor cold trail episode. I moved her on with tonning and encouragement as Danny and Ky Hunter recommended which seemed to work. My other 2 hounds will jump their own rabbits when soloe...

YOUNG COLD TRAILING HOUND

Is anyone aware of any successful training for a young hound that will cold trail, bark before the rabbit is up, on early morning frost covered surfaces or snow? I grew up with hounds most of my life. My Dad, who has since past, use to say, if a hound cold trails or back trails, get rid of it. I own...

Re: snowing in south mississippi

Danny, Plow trucks, heavens no. They don't even have snow shovels. I will bet, with the prediction of the snow storm, they had a run in the Food Lion Markets so now there is a shortagle of food. This yankee married a gorgeous Southern Belle from South Carolina. Over the years, I have e...

Re: snowing in south mississippi

You guys want me to overnight a couple of snow shovels? :) I will bet ,city hall shuts down for a week and no one drives. Import some hare and you could have a blast. Kidding of course but drivers not use to snowy roads are dangerous. Stay safe. B & D Kennels "Where controlled speed is appreci...
