How many litters has this bitch had? Also since you mention a false pregnancy, suspect ovarian/mammary cysts or tumors, which can sometimes be the cause of misses, false pregnancies, and unthrifty pups. Six years is also getting up in age for a bitch ... I know some breed theirs much older than that...

I have to pipe in ... fed BARF according to Billinghurst/Schultze for 3 years. What I go tout of it is that raw is a good supplement but a poor way to feed long term. I saw huge improvements in health the first year and then everything went to hell. What I've discovered since then is this. The raw d...

I'd be quick to blame the food if no parasites or other problems were found. Even if all the dogs were on the same diet, you could still have a pup or two that were not as thrifty as the others and needed more blood building nutrients. The problem with some foods is that they skimp on the vitamin pr...

It actually sounds like this pup is having grand mal seizures, which is a bad thing at such a young age. The less erious forms don't normally last more than a half a minute to a minute. Seizures generally come on when the dog is excited, so playtime with her littermates would be enough to do it. If ...

That is what happend when you mess around with people who claims they breed for show. You should try buying puppy from a true hunter. Beagleboy There ya go smoking that wacky weed again!!! Sheesh, I have a two page contract that comes with every puppy I place. It explains, in SIMPLE ENGLISH, who is...

[quote="SilverBullet"]Just remember "natural" supplements are NOT regulated. No one knows proper dosage (no clinical trials are REQUIRED, too expensive for most companies) Just keep in mind snake venom is all natural, but I wouldn't want to drink it. Sorry about that last post, I clicked send too so...

Boomer, Switching foods can be all a hound needs to stop the seizures. Either that or supplementing with taurine. But the raw diet can be particularly harmful to an epileptic dog. My hound was on it for about 3 years and all it did was increase the frequenct & severity of seizures. He has not had ma...

So in short, yes, Purina has been fooling a lot of ppl for a long time. But that's what they bank on. A fellow beagler posted above that they were buying 20lbs of PPP for $17. So he's getting 40lbs of corn based feed for $34. But one can buy 50lbs of Diamond or Black Gold (neither are cheap feeds & ...

Currently I am only buying the 20# bags of Purina One or Pro Plan, which run me about $17. I have seen the 41.25lb bag go for about $33 or a few dollars less on sale. theres cheaper out there, but I think the cheap comes out expensive in the end. JMHO. Thanks for all the input about the food, and I ...

Purina One/Pro Plan???
I switch my Shepherd off between Purina One & Pro Plan and am really pleased with the results. Since the price is fairly good and I could get a better discount with Purina's Pro Club membership, I am thinking about switching some of the Beagles over to Purina foods. Has anyone had any experience wit...

I'm really pleased with the results I'm getting with Gingko Biloba. I haven't seen his seizures this mild before. I like to check every so often here to see if any new research on the natural medicine side has surfaced that will help my little fellow lead a life as close to normal as possible withou...

I have to agree with the guys here giving advice to be cautious about this breeder, especially since he's in MO. That state has the highest percentage of puppy mills & USDA licensed breeders. Its unfortunate, so we have to be careful about who we buy from especially in Missouri. I got taken about 2 ...
