Re: Old magazines

I'd be interested in the 1980-1985 Issues for sure. Not the others though.

Re: F. C. Townlines Johnny Paycheck

Annabelle Yaunke would have probably been able to tell you, but sadly she’s recently passed. I’m guessing somewhere around 20.

Re: Hounds and Hunting / Better Beagling

All good things come to an end. Such is the case with the magazine Better Beagling......That being said, I enjoyed The American Beagler Magazine and need to re-up my subscription!

Re: Run to catch

When your dogs are catching them consistently out in the open, rabbit or hare, you've got something special in your pack. I've had my dogs catch many hare out in the open. Never like to see a bunny or hare that can't run anymore, but like I said, when it happens consistently out in the open, you've ...

Re: 17 Gauge Galvanized Apron Fence

I haven't had any luck finding the old 17 gauge Apron Fence Beagle wire. I need a 1/2 dozen rolls for next year. Sadly Red Brand doesn't make it anymore. If anyone knows of anything of equal or better quality let me know. The coated stuff is close, but the galvanized was a much better product.

Re: 17 Gauge Galvanized Apron Fence

I checked with Byrne Fence that used to handle the coated wire. He’s out of business. Any suggestions?

17 Gauge Galvanized Apron Fence

Red Brand 17" Gauge Galvanized Apron Fence. 150' long - 60" or 70" high. This is the fence that we beagle clubs have been using for 75 plus years. Personally I think it was superior to any other, including the coated wire which isn't nearly as strong. I tried ordering some more the last couple of da...

Re: Possible false pregnancy ???

I had a female go like 72 days once. She had two huge pups and one tiny one, but there was no question she was pregnant. Hard to say without seeing her and knowing the dog. Green and yellow discharge is not normal and typically, not a good sign unless pups are coming out imminently. With that color ...

Re: Better Beagling and Hounds and Hunting Sold

Just got my issue and read the Editorial by the new owner. Seems like the Magazine couldn't be in better hands. Congrat's and Good luck to this young lady and her family!

Re: Best Swamp water Dogs bloodlines

I judged Pacesetter at the Menominee Grounds, back in I believe 1990. If anyone ever ran there, you would remember it as one of the nastiest cedar swamps you've come across, which often times was a flooded mess in the spring with mosquito's the size of song birds (slight exaggeration) and in ample s...

Re: Coccidia

Just an FYI. I used the Corrid drench for a week with the pups I had at home. After a few days one pup was tested and was negative. The other two pups, one of which is now sold never came down with it either. Seems like it worked well. I will be using it as a precaution from now on before sending pu...

Re: Coccidia

Snowdogs, I did a lot of research. Jeffers is the only place I could find where you can get ALbon w/out an Rx. It appears they only sell the Albon Calf Bolus, 5g. I assume it is the same as all the rest, just listed for calves. Have you, or anyone reading this used this type of Albon, and if so, how...

Re: Coccidia

Thanks for the reply Snowdogs. Corid / Amprolium is what I'm giving them now. From what I am reading it is not as fact acting as say Albon. I'll shop Jeffers again. Have been using them lately and really like them for service and fair prices. I never had this happen before with pups that left here. ...
