Re: Run to catch

I do consider mine "run to catch" style, they just do it with line control and close check work on most days. In my opinion, there is a distinct difference between this kind of hound and rough, swinging fast hounds. I don't want to put words in Shady's mouth, but I believe this is what he is trying ...

Re: Run to catch

As anyone that has ran hounds with me knows, my hounds are not fast, just accurately quick. There are plenty that had seen Bonnie run, by no means was she a windsplitter! She was quick but rarely a front running hound in the trials, she excelled at her ability to snap back to a check quickly when th...

Re: Run to catch

We've had less than favorable conditions this year to say the least. We've been dealing with ice nearly all winter and had good snow for 1 week about 2 weeks ago. Last Tuesday it hit 40 degrees and rained over an inch in one day. We had major flooding due to the snow and frozen ground then the temps...

Re: Birchlake beagles

The Birch Lake kennel is owned by Ken Racine in Ishpeming MI. He competes with 13" hounds in the Northern Michigan Hare association. You can see several of his hounds @ www.northernmihare.com If interested in getting a Birch Lake hound I would give him a call. I'm pretty sure he breeds a couple lit...

Re: Is it tick cold

Wishful thinking!
We have no shortage of ticks here and it's -0 nearly every night.
My friend Budd lives in northern MN and deals with -40 temps on a regular basis, he's contracted Lymes 2 or 3 times himself much less his hounds.

1.5 year old, 16" male for sale. Excellent hunt, grit, handles well, good kennel manners, good nose, no trash. Can do it solo or with a pack. Only reason for sale is his size. PM me if interested. I can't get photobucket to work for his pedigree, I can either text or email it. https://www.youtube.co...
