Re: Feed

I have fed several brands of feed and I like Black Gold 26/18 black bag and also feed Diamond prem. 26/18. I pay $32.00 for Diamond 50 lb. bag.

Re: Worms

Keep your kennel as free of fleas as possible, that will help keep the tape worm numbers down. If it is a flat ribbon looking worm, it is more than likely a tape worm. Droncit will kill them.

The Vet. can do a look at the dog and tell you what to use.

Re: What 'style' is your hound?

My hounds came from bloodlines down south in MS.

They are Cruise Jim Dandy and Tadpole bred. They are 13/14 in. in size and run 7 speed on a rabbit, hard hunters and have good line control.

I will be running in ARHA PP when they are fully ready to compete.

Re: Killing tapeworms

I recently worked my dog with zimectrin gold ended up giving him the while tube over three days. How long will it take for him to start filling back out? He has started to clean back up can't find any worms in his stool. It seamed like it might be working but had me worried cause I didn't mean to g...

Re: Circle That Rabbit?

Me and all who I hunt with NEVER shoot on the jump. We allow our hounds to circle at least one time before we try to shoot the rabbit and I like to wait for the rabbit to circle back to me and I don't run after the pack as some guys do.

Re: is it to hot to run?

We have had some hot days here in south Arkansas. I or any of my friends do not run our dogs if it is over 75 degrees. I have seen a dog almost die from heat on a cast. We run at daylight when it is cool enough around 70 or so then catch them as it warms up around 0900.

Re: Preventing dogs from digging out of ground kennels?

I always use regular 2" X 4" wire for an apron about 18" wide flat on the ground on the inside of the pens. Use cage clips or hog rings to attach it to the fence and throw some dirt over it.

Other than that, you can use an electric fence to keep them off the fence.

Re: Dog Bleeding Out

Just put a band on his tail and it will solve your problem. Take off around 2 inches off the tip of his tail. All the guys around here band the tails of their beagles or dock them when 3 days old. Banding is easy and in about two weeks if the tail is not off below the band, just take it off with a s...

Re: WHO HUNTS HOUNDS WITHOUT E-COLLARS?

I use one on my hound. Before I had one, he would stay in the brush and would not quit hunting. i had to cut him off on a trail to get him back. Now, he comes in with just a tone. I am too old to run down a hound, lol.
