Re: All You PURINA FEEDERS!!!
I know a lot of times these shelters use the humane society in name only and do not hold the same beliefs that the national organizations do. In the link you provided it actually states that they have no affiliation with the national organization. I know a shelter here in indiana that the head techs...

Re: new garmin product
I reckon this is going to turn into a wait and see game. I'd probably sway a little towards the rep side that say they will be out. Doubt garmin would flat out tell you. If they did you wouldn't buy a alpha then turn around 3-4 months later and buy their newest and greatest. I'd be willing to bet th...

Re: new garmin product
Anyone that might be in the know. Are these going to be track and train like the alpha. Have collars in at sportdog and they are out of their mind pricing they are giving me to fix my tek setup. Any guess on release date? I need a system and of this is awhile coming I'll break and get the alpha.

Re: What's the best rabbit for starting pen.
Wild cottontails. I raise redbacks too and I put a lot of time in my breeding program to get the best rabbit I can. I sell a lot and guys seem to like them. I started with them to stock my own pen. The problem I run into is every once in awhile I get a die off in my pen. Don't know what it is but ha...

Re: Pics of the rabbits i raise (pope rabbits)
Yep. Have no problem admitting when I'm wrong and boy was I. After going back over the articles I have acquired concerning this it seems all were done in the UK. All were done with a "wild" rabbit and a hare. Beings they were in Europe this really was a rabbit to a rabbit. Wardog is right. The chrom...

Re: Pics of the rabbits i raise (pope rabbits)
span870 What studies did you make on crossing a rabbit and hare? What do the offspring look like ,a hare is born with fur and near ready to eat grass a rabbit is born looking like a litter of mice no fur so which one will the offspring resemble? I would like to read the study you did on cross breed...

Re: Pics of the rabbits i raise (pope rabbits)
That is a misconception that I also bought into until I did some studying on the subject. A hare and rabbit WILL interbreed but the offspring will be sterile. Same as a horse and donkey.

Re: water supply
I use a black rubber tub from Tracter Supply, only about 4 in. tall, I run my rabbits hard and make sure they have plenty of moisture during the hot, dry season. My trail cam shows that they use it. Thanks, Bob Do you have any problem them chewing it? I have one in my pen where i raise my redbacks ...

Re: Pics of the rabbits i raise (pope rabbits)
These are the type of rabbits that I raise for my pup starting pen. I also butcher some for eating to. The black rabbit can change directions in mid air he can stay ahead of the pups and put a show on. I only use black in the training pen. hey are a cross of Flemish Giant and Dutch Rabbit. http://i...

Guys with pens, what do you guys use for water for rabbits. My pen is on a hill and very heavy limestone about 8 inches to a foot so a pond is out. Does not hold water at all.

Re: Anybody have luck with solar lights for predators?
Does anything work besides shooting the dang things. I've found two gut piles so far, but I've released no less than 25 rabbits in a 6 acre pen and I've walked it yesterday and best I can come up with is six. I know I'm probably missing some and I do have two ground hog holes that I'm sure a couple ...

Makes sense. I put out corn for the rabbits last night and we got done about dark so it would have happened after dark or very early this morning.

rabbit killer
Found a gut pile in my running pen. What will kill a rabbit, eat all the meat, bones, and hair and leave nothing but a gut pile? It looked like someone shot a rabbit and gutted it. I found no tracks that I could say cat or anything. Won't a hawk or owl eat everything. I know owls sometime will just ...
