Re: Tritronic Trash Breaker, G2 EXP

I am pleased that you are well satisfied with the set. I try very hard to be totally "upfront" on any and all dealings. Good luck with the hounds and hopefully stop them from doing bad things. :)

Re: AKC Prices

At present, my dogs are registered with AKC and considering what we get in return for the fees charged by AKC, I will find a new Registry. As said before, "paper does not run a rabbit". It appears that fewer pups are being whelped for any number of reasons. I am certain that a good dog can be bought...

Re: extra barking on a rabbit track..

Seems to me that Buck's Better Beagles has the best approach to replying to the original post. Whether one is a Trialer, Gunner or Pleasure runner, each has his own standard for his dogs. I see no value in asking another Beagler to pass judgement on someone's hounds. We raise, feed and run the dogs ...

Re: How many dogs in a box?

The termperament of the dogs within a compartment can be a limiting factor. Some dogs become ill tempered when placed in close quarters with another dog. Mature males especially and often older females. Ventilation in the compartment is a major concern. I say "trial and error" will answer the questi...

Ohiohntr - Much wisdom in your post. Trainers of pups and young dogs should take note.

AKC and fees for registerations

I just received a Letter from the Director of Registeration Services, AKC disapproving my request for waiver of the increased fee for a Transfer of Registeration Certificate. I am wondering if AKC no longer waivers fee increases or if my request being disapproved was an arbitrary action. Either way,...

Re: Jack rabbits for a training pen

I am not sure exactly how "raised domestically" is defined. I am sure that you coluld raise Jacks in a pen as with eastern cotton tails, swampers or any variety of wild rabbits. The problem would be getting breeding stock to SC. I don't think they would work if caged. Just MO.

Re: had to put a dog down last night.

This is the way I see the situation. Even if it was a neighbor's dog it should not br running free. My neighbors have every right to own any breed of animal they like. But, they do not have a right to let their animal bother me or my property. If it was a "dump" dog, you did it a favor rather than h...

Re: Getting Some New Blood

Beaglerof4 - You just learned a lesson that most all of have learned before. Even though you was not burnt for a lot cash, remember the lesson that you bought and paid for. The dog is a nice looking one and maybe it is a "late bloomer". Try before you buy.

Heck yeah, this is a good "jump dog". He or she can jump a rabbit on Wal-Mart Parking lot on a Saturday afternoon.

Re: Bob Tailed

Crooked tails are usually the results of genetic defects. This will occur when one or both parants carry recessive genes for that trait. Under and over bites, crooked front ends, cherry eye, hyperactivity, hyperthyroidism, dwarfism and the list goes on.

Re: What bears the most weight?

All of my Beagles are linebred and papered, but.....I have no loyality to Titles or bloodlines. It is more about how well the dog does it's job. A good grade dog suits me just fine. I do not trial or gun, simply a pleasure runner.
