Re: Best Wormers

I order the generic "Drontal" from Okie Dog Supply. Ilium pyraquantal= gets rounds, hooks, whips and two kinds of tapes. I've had real good results from it. I think if you buy the pills individually they are around $3.00 a pill. Ten or more he'll give you a little break. Made by Troy Laboratories in A...

Re: Run to catch

As I've always maintained I think some of the best running here in Tn. is March through early April. Today was no exception as the girls ran several as if they were looking at em the entire time.Must have been buck rabbits as they were running big and wide. The way these cotton tails were running to...

Re: Beagles Running Rabbit Filming With DJI Mavic Drone

Very interesting to watch the hounds from the drone. Thanks for sharing.
After seeing the video though I was thinking the same thing as Jim was.Where's the cover to protect the rabbits? I've never seen an enclosure that open.
I'm afraid the beagles I run would be catching a lot of those rabbits.

Re: Open Marked Male

I owned a full brother to Guidry's Cajun Swamp Blue Boy Jiggs [ Shaggy].-----[Staten's Blue Samurai x Staten's Showtime Matinee] Bomber is a very nice young hound possessing all the tools.Good foot, hard hunt, accurate nose and a ton of bottom / stamina. I was so impressed with that cross that I bred ...

Re: Run to catch

Last weekend of our gun season.Had a great weekend with my good friend Peter Burns [Puckett Creek Beagles] over in middle Tn. Pete has some good connections in his area and quite a bit of private land to hunt on. Pete is the only rabbit hunter to hunt these spots and there's always a good population...

Re: Run to catch

This post has had a good run and I've thoroughly enjoyed the discussions/in-put. In the 22 years since I moved here to Tennessee from New Hampshire I've always maintained that the very best rabbit running with good long, hard,on and on races were when the gun season ended. From my experience I'd say ...

Someone told me they thought you were a military chaplain.
If that's so, then thank you for your ministry.
God Bless.

Re: Run to catch

What do they say these days "I feel your pain?" A lot of fellows on this board and even more on THE HUNTED HARE board talk about needing a hound with the tools to hunt in extreme conditions such as -10 below on ice, crust, etc. Guess I'm feeling blessed as I don't have to hunt in those conditions anym...

Re: Run to catch

mybeagles I like your post and totally agree with you about hounds being able to adjust to conditions. I don't focus on speed and I go to trials so infrequently I couldn't tell you how my hounds measure up to what folks are running in different formats or parts of the country. What I do know after t...

Re: Run to catch

mybeagles I hear what you're saying! Obviously the beagles I keep with their background of Large Pack on Hare and Mid-West hounds usually run a track [ cottontail, swampers or hare] at a considerably faster pace than say the U.B.G.F. or P.B.G.F. hounds I've seen run.Given that, the terms "close and c...

Re: Run to catch

That's what I'm talking about ! These are the kind of quotes I can relate to and tell me exactly how you're running. Newt-- "I've watched as the rabbits made big circles in the corn fields and the hounds are running like they are running a hare or a fox.Nose high and wide open.Exciting times!" ericw...

Newt,ericwadel3 and Swampman.Enjoyed your posts. I enjoy hearing about other's beagle posts especially when the emphasis is on hunting and the dog work.
