Why else do we only use tame rabbits to start our dogs, they aren't the same as their wild brothers

I can't speek for anyone else, but the reason that I train with pen raised rabbits (and birds for the retrievers) is because it is against the law to train with the wild ones.

Oh don't worry Turkeys fall to predation too, it just takes a little larger predator. Loosing chickens and not turkeys is more a function of location than anything else. Unfortunately, the Turkey population in Utah is very low, the Cougars take care of that.
