Tim, I've read the thread and I agree with you. I will only add this: When the Gideons association can no longer come to school and pass out New Testament bibles to kids who want one, but the schools can require kids to read books about witchcraft and warlocks, the problem starts. We've told God He ...

like its been said, a judge must try and watch all the dogs. i have dogs get in the front but doesnt know what to do. i think judges have a hard time scoring swinging dogs too. just because a dog barks out of the area where the dogs broke down, that doesnt mean the dog is on a different rabbit. Sli...

I appreciate a dog like that too Checkmate...but during this cast, until the dogs split, dogs A & B never scored a point. Jump points went to dog C, and the only 2 checks before the split went to dog C and one to dog D.

Just for clarification.

DarrinG, Whats the bottom line, what was the judges ruling during the running of the cast you described? and how did the disagreement arise? Ok... There was no disagreement on the cast, not openly. If I dont agree with a judge on every call, that's OK, no big deal with me. No judge or handler will ...

Opps...let me rephrase the statement.

I didnt mean to say "another" rabbit, just a second one. Lets say the area is pretty darn thick where the split occurred and there's no way to know for sure which is the original rabbit.

Sorry for the confusion.

After each check, all dogs were packed up together running. And without a check, dogs A & B split on another rabbit. Interesting responses so far! Which 2-pack of dogs does the judge order the handlers to get back with the other 2 dogs and which 2 dogs does he stay with and keep scoring? Yes Rick......

Question For The Judges

NKC Little Pack Rules. 4-dog cast. The hounds are cast, dogs A-B-C and D. Dog C opens and jumps a rabbit in view of the judge and handlers. A hot and powerful race around the hillside....pounding running. Then a check, which dog D claims and moves out on, the rest hark in and the race is back in ord...

I used to own a little gyp that was out of Prater's Quincy and a Patch bitch (1/2 Northway - 1/2 Patch) that was a little fireball. She was small but full of fire.

Come to think of it, doesnt Prater's Quincy have a touch of Patch in him too? I dont have the pedigree on the female I owned anymore.

I also owned a male out of that cross that I bought from a dude in KY who...well, never mind. Anyhow, that dog was wild as a buck deer and bit my buddy and was like trying to lasso a wild hog in a pen he was so shy. When he snapped at my daughter in the kennel he got a sudden case of lethal lead poi...

Thats exactly why I quit...for now. The last year or so I had hounds, my mind wondered to my kids at home more than it was on the dogs. I wondered if my kids wished I was home playing with them instead of being out somewhere with a pack of dogs. The Man upstairs impressed upon me that my feelings we...
