The term Gyp where does it come from?

I was just curious. Since I haven't been around a lot of hunting beagles only show dogs I was curious where the term for "Gyp" when referring to female beagles came from?

thanks in advance ;-)

Ch Lanbur Rising son won the 13 inch variety. I believe it was the westminster site that posted the incorrect winner and I'm not sure why that happened. I'm sure they will get it fixed eventually.

Re: show beagles

Does anyone have any Ch. Kahootz Chase Manhattan (Ben) babies? I am interested in getting a puppy from him, he is very nice, and throwing beautiful babies. Anyway just thought I'd introduce myself[/quote] You'll want to contact Mildred Austin who owns Ben. Just do a google search for Tesoros beagles...

I happen to agree with most of what Cindy said. I have nothing against working with field beaglers and had any of them asked me I'm sure we could work something out. I think maybe one has asked but, hasn't been ready yet to do a breeding. I like cindy do not care to have my dogs chained to a barrel ...

This is called reverse sneezing (snorking as I call it) Its nothing to worry about and isn't a condition a vet needs to see since they'll just tell you the dog is fine and charge you an office visit. Lots of beagles do it. Here is a site with a little more info on it. http://www.paw-rescue.org/PAW/P...

You can only use the 1% injectable for cattle. Not the pour on or the one with the liver enzyme. If you need dosing instructions I can find it and post it here. I just give 1/10th of a cc (using an insulin syringe) per dog orally once per month but, others like to get a little more scientific. I hav...

"I guess we should just remember that we all share a common love for this breed, whether they are hard hunting gun dogs, or gorgeous show dogs." I have to agree with Tom and Stacy. What holds us together or should hold us together is the love of the breed. We don't always have to agree but, I can su...

I have been reading your boards for a while and have for the most part enjoyed them. Since my dogs have been mentioned and this one post seemed directed at me I thought I might respond. I have to always wonder when I see posts like this why it must be "Them against us" I have personally attended a f...
