Re: Opinions, Please!
Your puppy looks ok. I see nothing at all terrible about its head or muzzle. I find that I need to watch puppies on their own in the yard to evaluate them. Balance is what your looking for, Not pieces and parts! How does this puppy carry himself? is his topline solid and does he move nicely without ...

Re: TC or anyone
Ok, first off, if anyone makes fun of me, I will kick someone's butt! Don't even think about it. Is there anyone around my area that might be able to look at my Yorkie and see if she would be worth putting in any shows. She probably ain't but if she was, my wife would have a blast with that. ...

Re: How do I ship a beagle?
You'll most likely have to ship the puppy by air. Its running about 219.00 one way right now so, check prices. Occasionally you can fly to pick up the dog and carry it on the plane for just about the same or less. I would look at flights from whatever airport they are using to yours at http://www.tr...

Re: Drying up a female
No need to rub anything on a bitch who you are weaning puppies from. I usually let them nurse the puppies once or twice a day for a few days and then once the puppies are eating good I remove the bitch. Lower her feed by about 1/2 for 2 days but, do not take away water. Her breasts will fill up but,...

Re: Abortion
How old is the bitch? Once dogs are tied the damage is done within 1 min so, spraying them with water etc. isn't helping anything. Even though a close breeding like that is not advised I doubt there will be any problems with the puppies. I'd probably just watch her and wait as I have heard nothing g...

Re: c-section
Its very possible for a bitch to deliver a litter normally after a C-section. However, after a C-section there can be adhesions which are bands of tissue that form during healing and cause problems for furture deliveries. I've had 2 or 3 have regular deliveries after C-sections. You just need to kee...

Re: vet bills????
The days of the good ole country vet are almost gone. I'm lucky that I have one and that his son (my age) is now in practice with him. The ones coming out of vet school now are only looking at how to market their practice and how to bilk their customers out of every dollar they can. most are Animal ...

Re: question on overdue female
Gestation is calculated from the time the egg is fertilized. Since none of us know when this occurs and we usually just go by breeding dates unless we pay for expensive progesterone tests the actual day when puppies are due can be pretty random. Your bitch may have concieved several days after the l...

Re: litter size
I just had a litter of 7 born and a litter of 5 from a teeny tiny 13in bitch. My average is 6 I'd say. The biggest litter from a show bred bitch I've had is 9 and that was the litter "Parker" came from. personally I could do without litters that big. 6 is enough. Congrats to everyone on their puppie...

My 9 year old female has started drinking an excessive amount of water in the last couple of weeks. She also has started lossing water but eats well. Could this be signs of kidney failure?
