About 5 years ago I went to J*******'s Beagle Farm in Southern Ill. and even purchased two dogs from him. I will agree he had several dogs but at that time they appeared to be well taken care of. My cousin and I even talked about what a job it must be to care for all of them as the kennels were not ...

The two young dogs Mark had advertised are NOT the two from your dog. Give Mark a call at 812-985-9414, he's a really nice guy and I'm sure he would answer any of your questions.

BeaglerJay, I whelped a litter from our Ranger Dan/ Gay bred female from the male you have when Mark Harmon owned Tank. We only got 2 pups to survive from the litter and gave them both to Mark. You may want to check with him to see if they are doing anything yet as they should be around 6 or 7 month...

Stanimals2, I think that you, I and several others have observed the very same things in the course of following some of these boards. I think I addressed about the same thing in my post to the starting pen thread. I also feel that if someone airs their TRUTHFUL experiances or voices their opinion t...

We have two house dogs that get fed the same thing and have for several years. I have noticed that the male every so often wants out to do nothing but eat grass. He heads straight out grazes on grass UNTIL he throws up. He will graze and dry heave until he throws it up and I noticed it always has a ...

g. isom, I agree with you 100%. It appears that there are a handful of people on these boards who have no vital input other then to make wise cracks and slam people for airing their opinions and or experiances. I've seen these SAME people do it before. If folks don't agree with them or say something...

Thanks guys for the info. With all the above being said why then do you see so many Ranger Dan offspring and none from Sprocket? I believe that Lucy was a field champion also and hear nothing of pups from her either.

I don't know why all you folks are putting word's in Brian's mouth. Go back and read what he said. He actually said " I don't expect much at all from a dog just back from the starting pen but I do expect them to at least bark and do something on a hot rabbit." He explained that they had 3 different ...

Melanson's Fareast Sprocket

Can anyone tell me why you hear so much about Ranger Dan but not much on Sprocket? I believe they were siblings and both IFC. What was the difference?

I believe that pursuit is the same behavior but the motivation for it is several entirely different things at different times. I have watched cats pursue or stalk a mouse or bird only to play with it and then let it go. I have also watched them pursue, kill and eat them. IMO animals pursue for diffe...

About 2 years ago I bought a pair of 8 month pups from a fellow who had a starting pen plus a bigger enclosure for running. I watched both pups jump and run several rabbits with my older dog. They were running the front and he was behind just straightening out the checks. I bought them as "STARTED" ...

Well folks, I really don't know much about this rabbit dog stuff but I've been following them off and on for about 40 years. Now I've never had me no high falutin field champion but I have had some that would bring a rabbit to the gun. We've been out the past few days and ran a few bunnies. On Chris...
