Re: Run to catch

Definitely has to be the picture as I had to flip flop back and forth as I thought I was comparing the wrong pictures. I doubt that neck scarf she had on made that much difference. LOL She certainly looks bigger in that picture in all ways. Love all the pictures.

Re: Run to catch

I like how Tess is put together as she looks real fine boned as I call them. How tall is she as she seems small too? I like them built like the running gear of a katydid. One of the best ones I ever owned was put together like her and the best one my dad ever owned was colored like her. That p...

Re: 17 Gauge Galvanized Apron Fence

I agree with Shady grove as I was thinking of fencing in about 10 acres about that time. I went back to look at my notebook where I kept the information on it and found apron fence prices from $70.00, $73.95 and $76.80 from three different places. I found a price at our local Rural King some years l...

Re: Thank you, Daddy Rabbit!

I too remember those days when Bev and Sally went to rabbit town. I always enjoyed looking at pictures of their trip and listening to their stories. I also miss talking to Sally and often wonder how she is doing these days.

Re: Run to catch

I can remember the day I saw my very first deer and I had been hunting for about 5 years at the time. My dad and I were squirrel hunting and we both just sat and watched in awe of it. As for the turkeys we never saw them either and in fact have just gotten them around me since I have owned this prop...

Re: Run to catch

Society and culture is a far distance from when we were kids. It seemed that we were all born with the primal instinct of hunting as back then it was a means of subsistence. Most of the families we knew used hunting and foraging as a means to augment their diner tables and even those that didn't wer...

Re: Run to catch

Shady Grove, I can relate to exactly what you have just outlined in your post as it is the same around here. We do have some state ground close by BUT every other hunter in the state has the same problems with finding hunting places in their immediate areas so they all converge upon the state ground...

Re: The American Beagler Facebook page

I'm doing well Dan. I still have a littermate to Ruby and another one bred pretty close that is also of the same age. I have missed getting either one of them bred so they may be my last ones.

Re: The American Beagler Facebook page

Thanks for getting me set up Bev. How you been Swampman & Wardog? Still have Ruby she is up there in age. Had a litter of pups. Still running. I have been wondering how you have been. Yes Ruby is like my two I have that are both over 10 years old now. I have a littermate to ruby and another female ...

Re: The American Beagler Facebook page

Bev, I also agree 100% with Shady grove and I also stay posting on here as well. I've been on this forum for 17 years and got to pick up on several posters on here. It was pretty easy to know those who had some real knowledge via experience from years of hunting hounds and those who made a few trail...

Re: Run to catch

Shady, that is EXACTLY what I was thinking but wanted to ask the question to see what people thought. I was thinking that if a dog is supposedly good enough to trial in a specific format it should be good enough to run it's speed and style regardless of the company it is with. If it is a peanut roll...

Re: Run to catch

WOW, shocking off of a RABBIT! That also brings more questions to my mind. Were your fast dogs making them to fast or were their slower dogs making yours slower for what either liked?

Re: Run to catch

There are a few people on this cite that I have and will always think are E.F. Huttons of the time. They are of the same age as I am but have spent more time in all aspects of rabbit hunting than I have as a sport hunter. I have never competition hunted beagles Although I have been to a couple just ...
