Re: LEG DAMAGE WITH DC50 COLLAR
I run dc40's and have 1 ea. dc50, and have no problems with dogs legs hitting colars at all, but I put my tri tronics on the same colar as the Garmin. If u take the dc40 off and turn it around so the antena points towards the buckle and wire tie the antena to the loop, u can slide your exp on the sa...

Re: Color affect price?
Actually I looked up the AKC beagle standard; more people should do that. The color of a beagle should be any accepted hound color. AKC accepts the blue as a color, which makes it an accepted color and NOT A DEFECT!

Re: Color affect price?
I'm having a hard time finding anything on the Internet that says silver color is a defect. Does anyone have some proof of this, or is this opinion? All I find is telling me that beagles sometimes will be colored blue/silver, but is rare.

Bob

Re: Color affect price?
Elliot,
What do you put down on registration papers to AKC for color? I have one to register, figured I'd have to call AKC and ask.
Thanks,
Bob

Re: Dog Eating Feces - Health Implications?
Had an old vet tell me one time that dogs eat poop because it smells like dog food to them. 85 percent or more of most dog foods is just filler to make him feel full and to make it look like you are getting your money's worth out of your bag of dog food. Very little of what we give our dogs is nutri...

Re: Color affect price?
Silver is rare. One vet said 1 in 10,000, I charge a little more; seems everybody wants the silver pups.

Re: Rabbit trapping question
I never set mine right in the run, they just make a new run around it; set it close by it so as not to disturb thier natural routine. Not in the brush, but close, so they feel safe. In the winter, try shelled corn. They like the carbs. I agree with some rabbit poop in back, they feel like the trap h...

Re: What becomes of your old hunting dogs?
Trouble is with giving away an older dog also comes high vet bills. Do you really want to do that to someone? If you don't want to keep them till they die, I suggest selling at a younger age to someone who will. Jmho. But that's just me, trying to think of others besides myself.

Bob

Re: dog as gone loose
Give him about 3 cc's of pedialite morning and night for electrolytes. I had a female with loose stool, a guy told me to give her a can of green beens. Seemed foolish to me but next day she had firm stool.

Re: Tone Training
I train a ton of pups in a year. I do close to what dearhost does except I use verbal commands; once the pup knows he is supposed to come when called, and you call him and he goes the other way, I sternly give them a "bad dog! Bad dog!" Then tone him and if he does not come in, then start on low set...
