Will be build a 40 acre enclosure this summer. Most is big timber so much work to do. About 5 acre grassy field. Soil is sandy and in Wisconsin. Once some trees are cleared what are first priorities for planting....fall time frame. Thoughts on hinge cutting, clear cutting vs select cutting. I was to...

Re: Need a source for Sericea
I will be building a pen this summer (40 acres) its mainly big timber and sandy soil in Wisconsin. Once I clear some trees what would be a good ground cover to plant. Sericea was on the short list as I understand they have a northern variety that does well in cold climate. I understand rabbits eat i...

Patch, German hunters have select colors they wear.....green, brown, and black. When I busted out my red/black Woolrich Elmer Fudd top coat, Orange Stormy Cromer hat and pair of Muck boots they looked at me like a redheaded step child. I did run into one old German hunter (87) who sported red Stormy...

Re: Signs of DOG JOCKEY'S , DOG TRADER'S
Dog jockeys believe they are doing the dog community a favor filling the market For buyers that want a $2,000 dog for $200. Buyers remain willfully ignorant through the buying process so if things don't turn out the way they hoped they can blame the seller. After reading 100's of similar threads I'm...

Seems odd that the Russians, Chinese, Iranians can hack into all our government computers yet we can't crack the code on a hard drive and server with dog pedigrees. Does anyone feel things are getting upside down in this world?

Re: Studs Dogs FC produced
Usually by the time a stud has Field Champions on the ground its too old to be breeding. I have no interest in breeding to a 9+ year old dog. I know this will touch a nerve with stud owners but so be it. Scientist have proven genetic birth defects from old parents both male and female in humans grea...

Re: Rose City Joey running Solo
Hunting regulations are ridiculous here. The hunters safety program is 1 year long here, mandatory for every hunter. They have a condensed course for US service members but its all day Sat/Sun then Mon and Tue evening for 4 months. In the US the DNR officers don't go that long.....lol To run dogs yo...

Jim,
I got him as pup from Terry Maniez in Michigan. They were both his dogs. The sire has impressive nose. He has couple crosses of Buckshot Jones in pedigree.

Is it true nobody has access so the information will be lost? He worked so hard for so long with so many people it just seems like a shame for it all to go to naught.

I see the site is for sale. It was a pretty cool pedigree site when Carl had it up and running. Why don't one of you entrepreneurial spirits buy that site and get it up and running again.

Re: Stine Time Ivy
Hubbard84,
I bred Ivy 3X to exceptional males and only had 1 with her ability. She had 2 more litters with new owner and none of the pups were equal or better which should be the goal. In the end I didn't consider her a producer. Sounds like your describing a similar trait with Deuce.

Re: Stine Time Ivy
Hubbard84,
How would you describe the grand pups with their various breedings? Still big nose, big hunt? Just curious.
