Final update, I took him out last thursday and he ran for four hours like nothing had happened. Figured he'd be sore/lame next day, he was ready to go again.

Take a look at Quick Track, the extended range collars work real well in thick stuff and for the occasional cross country deer run. They are not real heavy and work fine on my deer beagles. Update on Jake, he got his stitches out yesterday the Vet said rest him for about 10 more days and he can start running again.
