Re: TICKS IN FEB. IN VIRGINIA
I found a tick on a couple of my dogs in January. Haven't seen any more. I often find fleas on the rabbits but it is usually rabbits in just certain areas. That warm fur is how a flea makes it through the winter cold. In certain areas where I have killed rabbits and put them in my hunting coat I wil...

Re: World Champion Grands 2009
Congratulations Mike there was never any doubt in my mind that she could do it. I have seen alot of dogs and some may not like a dog like Honey but from where I am standing she is as good a dog as I have ever seen and is a proven reproducer. When she going into the Hall of Fame? LOL How old is Honey...

Re: Pictures of HammerenPatch Hounds
Mike I can't wait to do it again. It was a great week. Yes Dick still has Tango. She is the up and coming dog for Dick. I would bet that she will give old Gunner a workout now. LOL Tango was out of the best Patch male that I have ever had, Lesage Flash and Shine RP. I crossed him to Sugar Ridge Patc...

Re: Pictures of HammerenPatch Hounds
Hey Mike. Thanks for the nice words about Hammer. He is still my pride and joy. I can bet that your Gunner is doing a fine job now also. He looked good for his young age at Drummond. I bet he is hard for a dog to handle now. At ten months of age he was pushing some fine older dogs. I would love to s...

Congratulations to Huntin54
Just wanted to congratulate a young man that has as much love for rabbit hunting and beagles as anyone that I have ever meet. Joey just got his first article published in one of the magazines, The Rabbit Hunter . I read the article and really enjoyed reading about a young man enthusiasm for the spor...

Re: patch hounds
You should go run with a person that has Patch Hounds and see if you like them. Like any line of beagle you can get good ones and bad ones. If you run with a person that breeds and raises Patch hounds you should be able to get something that you like from them. Check with someone in your area that h...

Re: improving running areas any Ideas?
Yes I have used it and it works fine. It is also fast since it dissolves fast. I like to place it on a pine stump where it dissolves into the wood and then the rabbits come along and eat it. I have used block salt but like the water softner salt best . It is easier to carry around and put out at var...

Re: Early Rabbit Breeding ?
Hey CR the reason they are running different directions is to keep out of your frying pan. LOL You have those rabbits trained real good down there. Big Head is still scratching his head on those rabbits. The reputation those rabbits have I'm afraid to come down there. LOL Big Head says he is coming ...

Re: Early Rabbit Breeding ?
I can say that here in Va a few years back I had a dog to get into a nest of young rabbits at the end of Jan. I saw that. I have a friend that went to feed his cattle last year the first part of Feb. and when he picked up the round bale with the tractor there was a nest of baby rabbits. I certainly ...

I sure am surprised to see this Mike. I thought that you would have never sold that dog. I know the man will like her. I sure wished that I was feeding her. LOL Best of luck to the new owner.

Hello I am the breeder of Peanut and feed his mother right up to the day she died two years ago. I still have Peanuts sire, Briary Creeks Pache O' Hammer. He was out of Cal's Apache and Plowboys Polka Dot Pache. If you want more information about Peanut and his parents I can supply it for you. I was...

Re: A couple pics from our trip to the UP
Glad you got all the dogs back. It is easy for them to get away from you up there. Kind of scary losing a dog like Honey. Those are some really nice folks up there. Most of them will go out of there way to help you. They look out for the dogs also. I have lost some and had to laugh when the people s...

This is a great looking female and a real nice litter. Between the mom and Sage these should be some real nice looking pups. I sure hope that Charles in Ga is able to get one. I don't know if he has contacted you yet but I do believe this is what he is looking for. He sure will give them the test of...
