Our vet recommended the Oxytocin for the same reasons others have listed. We have experienced very few issues since adopting this process.

We often give a shot of Oxytocin (believe thats the spelling) within hours after pups are born. This seems to work very well for us.

We carry a suture and staple kit, eye wash is a must, stop bleed, tuff pad, needle nose pliers, antibiotic ointment, baby asprins, peroxide, as well as bandages, siccors and tape.

Im no expert on hare but we had 3 go to holes this year that we verified. One we watched get jumped ran right to a rock pile. I dont think it happens alot but in some cases it does happen.
