It really is too bad one bad apple can spoil the whole barrel, weather it's one irresponsible hunter who knowingly tresspasses, or some jackass cutting someone else's tires. I rabbit hunt in 2-3 different states, and never had a problem....we should all be a little more conservation-minded when we s...

I'm on my second pair of 800 gr. Rocky Bearclaws, the first pair lasted three years. This pair is leather/cordura, and seems to be holding up even better. In mild weather, I just wear my uninsulated Red Wing comfort zone work boots....

There are ALOT of hounds out there that will forsake the rabbit for the chase...they have more foot than brains. I will take a more conservative hound that can account for it's game anyday, over most of the hit and miss wind-splitters that are popular today. I'd say cull the head-bangers, and get so...

I would say if hound number 1 has had plenty of opportunity, solo and in a pack, and still shows no interest....it's a cull....!

I can say, being a hunter first, the first impression goes a long ways......If I walk into a club, and everyone is eating breakfast and b.s.ing., please offer some goshdurn food and don't treat me like an outsider..!! :???: There are way too many clubs that treat a fellow beagler like some stranger ...

Usually a good morning hunt, 4-5 hours. Unfortunately, i'm not as young and in shape as I used to be, and I have a alot more family time than I used to.. ( don't keep my hounds in top shape, like I should, either.. )....but we do a few all day hunts by the middle/end of gun season..

I liked what Pike Ridge said, to me it's more about time in the field. If my schedule allows me to get a younger hound in the field and have plenty of opportunity, it should be started by 8-10 mos. old. By a year old, it needs to show me that little something extra that makes one worth keeping, and ...

I really like the hunt mine has.......I have never seen a mouthy Northway hound and they know how to find the bunnies..I would like to mention that these hounds have brains too, they always seem to adjust to the conditions to account for their game and not get over-competitive.

I have been out there a few times. The way to go is state park cabin rentals..(cheap and close to the hunting), you can reserve them on-line. The people are very friendly, and your best bet is to call the state wildlife biologist to see how the numbers are in the area that you plan to hunt. Toronto ...
