Re: MY Choice for President

Sure Rufus, we'll all take your opinion over a leutenant colonel! Remove all politics from perception of this ordeal and this man is right. You're the only marine I know that would post what you did, and I know several.

Re: Another Republican Hypocrite

They should not only have to pass a drug test, but report to their local unemployment office for community service work while collecting unemployment benefits. A .091 is barely over the legal limit and most hand held devices have a greater margin for error than that. I'm sure the officer who is a me...

I've had good results with the ToneKote also. I think my female likes it as much or more than the food itself.

Re: Is finishing a dog to akc fc still a big acomplishment

I don't think the original idea for the brace hounds was the dog they have today, but look at the result. As far as leaving a pack to judge a rough dog over the next ridge, I haven't seen that either. What I have seen many more times than not are winners packs that run tremendously better than previ...

Re: Is finishing a dog to akc fc still a big acomplishment

I agree with much of what's been said here. Yes there's more rougher dogs placing today. Nevertheless that doesn't mean there weren't rough dogs in the beginning, in the middle, or won't be any in the future. It's just that seems percentage wise and number wise there's more today than there was in ...

Re: Is finishing a dog to akc fc still a big acomplishment

I've been judging trials for some years now. I started out in the Appalachian gundog association. That association folded and I moved onto the mid-west. The mid_west has some darn good dogs in it but you got to get off the front end to find them. Just because your leading the pack don't mean you're...

Re: Is finishing a dog to akc fc still a big acomplishment

Wildcat, it is truely unfortunate that you feel that way. Your opinions and input are respected atleast by myself and surely others as well. My point is to turn those thoughts into action. Get involved, have a voice, and get licensed to judge if you're not already, or become an officer in a club. Ev...

Re: Is finishing a dog to akc fc still a big acomplishment

The dogs running today are no different than the early 90's when I went to my 1st trial. If anything the judges of today are more likely to pick a dog up that is being rough. My question is to those of you posting here that don't judge and have an opinion. Do you have any idea how hard & how much wo...

Re: The price of a hound?

When I raise a litter I typically only use a FC stud and the female is bred very well and a good dog. If I have any extra pups left after keeping mine and giving my buddies some, you can buy a pup from me for $150-$200, usually $150. I do not own beagles and trial to make money. My recommondation to...

Re: AKC REG. Hardest hunting male gundog

Pine Lakes you were right about Cedar Swamp Ripper. If you hunted him 3 days in a row you had to lay the dog up he was tore up so bad. He would have hunted until he killed himself. I had one out of him that was the same way. It seemed like every time I took him out he would do serious damage to him...

Re: AKC REG. Hardest hunting male gundog

Cedar Swamp Ripper would literally kill himself trying to find a bunny. I gave him to Rufus Stewart and he used him in his breeding program with good results. Ask Rufus about him but don't ask him about politics or the conversation will turn ignorant in a hurry! Sorry, I had to get that jab in. Oh y...
