Re: people you can trust

Been a while since I was around here. I'm not sure any of these guys are still around or not but Chip Davis and Steve Mikkelson are outstanding to deal with and are as honest as anyone could be about a dog, theirs or yours. Had several dog deals with each and wouldn't hesitate to buy a dog over the ...

Re: Thompson Contender 45LC/410 question ?

Look at the inside of your "choke" it should have straight grooves instead of spiraled rifling. The barrel has spiraled rifling that imparts spin on a 45 projectile for increased stability. Spin has the opposite effect on a shot shell. The "choke" is designed to stop the spin of the shot before it l...

Re: Shocking a snake bite

Been a Paramedic for nearly 17 years now. Shocking a snake bite is in the same bag as cutting the wound and sucking out the poison with one of those little kits. As stated above even if either was effective (no medical evidence that it is) by the time you realize there is a bite it's already to late...

Re: The Wait is Over

I see the ease of use, but surely if mine can't carry 3.0 more ounces...they have a special place to be....IMO. Good running to all! BC, I see your point and don't necessarily disagree with you but to play devils advocate if you are going out on some sort of strenuous outing that you know will be i...

No brainer here, Alpha hands down. If that's more than your budget allows I'd vot to stick with the Trashbreaker, or whatever it's called now.

Re: new garmin product

Had a rep tell me the same thing a while back. Said no new products were in development and none were scheduled for release. About 5 weeks later the TT15's were released. I don't think they lied to me, just not sure how "in the loop" the guys & gals on the phones are kept.

Re: Dog barking at night

I have the same problem from time to time. I live a good distance off the highway & most of the time it's the neighboring farms horses getting close to the fence or an occasional critter near the lot but a few weeks ago it was a vehicle sitting a couple hundred yards from my house. When my outside l...

Re: new garmin product

Tom, I used the same method you describe but I think Sam has came up with a different method. The way I understood his post was to take the collar off and start threading it back so the buckle sits between the box on the bottom & the GPS receiver on top opposite the way the factory does it. So if I'...

Re: little pack world hunt

Those checks could have been 15 second losses wasnt there just saying. Im sure its nice to have dogs like yours that run the front all day on whatever is dropped down with them and never break down for more than 15 seconds. The guy posts about having a good time at the world hunt and you gotta star...

Re: little pack world hunt

The winning Grand in one cast this morning had 7 checks, 2nd and 3rd had 5 checks, and 4th and 5th had one check. They ran that rabbit for about 50 minutes. Larry Am i reading this correctly that in a 50min race there were 19 checks? If so they should of been shot. not given trophy. Thats lil pack ...
