When using either a bow or .22, do you hit them on the run or only when they are sitting still? Sounds like a real challenge.

had the same thing happen years ago, but it was a nest of yellow jackets that borrowed in the ground in the kennel. The hound swole up, wouldnt eat and was moving very slow. Turns out he was allergic to the stings, the vet gave him Benedryl and some steriods to help regain his strength.

Darin, check with Southern States if you have one near buy. Here in Raleigh, I get my Diamond from them. I used to feed Purina but switch before I knew about them being brought by Nestle. All I knew at the time was that something had changed and the hounds no longer really cared for it. I was reluct...

Thanks Alabama John. When planning for a long all day hunt, do you all ever split up the dogs into 2 packs so you can have fresh hounds after lunch? I havent done this yet but I am considering giving this a try this upcoming long weekend. Pros, cons? thanks.

In my opinion, training and breeding seems to be two of the biggest factors, with breeding being one of the most important. I have several dogs with different breeding that all get the same amount of conditioning. My gay breed hounds which have better conformation than the rest always seem to be abl...

I never got my January issue either. I called and they said they were all sent out before Christmas, so I had them send me another issue the other day. I am glad to hear that the "Houdsman" series has started back up.

I meant an expert in animal behavior, the bookworm types.... didnt mean to step on any toes, I am always open to different views other than my own. I stand corrected, they are not in the rodent family, although closely related. They are in family "leporids", which along with rodents fall into the Cl...

I see your point... but to answer your question, no, "I" dont think they enjoy the chase, but then again, maybe some do and maybe so dont, and maybe somedays they do and others they dont. Lets agree to disagree. Have fun.

I am with you Bowhunter on this.. Maybe the ones switching up in the pipe have been in the pen long enough together to develop the same type of relationship that a pair of foxes will. I say that because it is a know fact that foxes will switch up when being chased to allow their mate to rest a bit w...
