My 8 month old was similar. It took 3 times out for 2-3 hours before he would go with the one other hound. He preferred to run his own. If he was near me when the other hound went by I would run after the other dog and the pup would join in at times and then finally trust the other dog enough to run...

I trained, trailed and owned Sly until he passed away the spring before last. Also ran all his littermates 1st cross and some of the 2nd cross.
