Dogtra
I have the Dogtra 2002 NCP unit and like it a lot. Instead of a tone like the Tritronic units, it uses a vibration, like on a beeper. Regardless, I use it the same way as you guys. ......and like you, I often have to use the Nick feature to bump'em back in. Tritronics is good, but I must say, I am e...

Good idea
Thornie, I agree. Went to a VA fun run last year. Met some wonderful people, saw some good and some "not so good" dogs. Mine was in the latter catagory....lol Anyway, we had a blast. No one busted on anyone or their dogs, just a good time for all. I wish we would organize more of these. (HINT) WV is...

Tommy
Tommy, let's hear it. If you've got an improved trigger mechanism we are all ears. Thanks

thanks
Very nice description of the trigger mechanism. Looks like I've got a weekend project now. These have-a-heart traps aren't doing the trick for me. I catch everything but rabbits. Thanks again for posting this.

I felt great relief when Rebel left, and I've never thought of Swing in that same light and certainly hope I never will. TO ALL: Please don't fill the void that Rebel left. The board is better off without all that chest pounding. Why don't we arrange an "after the season" east coast FUN RUN. I can't...

similare story in VA
I deer hunt west of me, in a county called Buckinham VA. I normally still hunt from a stand on a private 60 acres. Deer dogs come through all the time. I have benefitted from this (of course), but understand how it would pee the land owners off. These lazy Buckinham hunters, don't even get out of th...

what a mess
What an absolute mess. That's the problem with buying adult dogs. Seldom do they meet the buyers expectations, which were given in the add and verbally from the seller. We've all been burnt. I doubt you're gonna get your $250 back, nor would I pay the remaining $250. A lawyer would cost you at least...

not flea realted, but....
Not about fleas, but another oddity. I don't normally treat my dogs with a tick preventative in the winter months. It's been rather warm here lately and notice ticks on my dogs yesterday. Never thought I'd be using BioSpot in January.

Thanks Dave
Thanks Dave McVay,
You and your family are doing wonders for this sport. I was just browsing your site last night, how tall is Chip? Also, can you PM Roy's number to me? Thanks again and I hope the Holidays treat you and yours well.
Respectfully,
David Williams

amen
You see it on every board and it gets old after a while. Typically though, it's just a few that are constantly involved and I just skip their post. The wealth of information that comes off of these boards, far out weighs the trash talk. Also note that one each of the boards, you're seeing more and m...

Thanks
Thanks Nate. I don't know about the speed differences as I've only seen two of your dogs run. Both were copper nose young pups in a starting pen (doing quite well I might add).
Is it Ray or Woody that does the conditioning?

dogs eat wierd stuff
I had one of those large green nylon tarps stretch over the chainlink top of the kennel to ward off sun and rain. One day I noticed what I thought was worms in one the dogs stool. Under closer investigation, it turned out to be fibers from the tarp as he was chewing on it. Another story, last year I...

Dog conditioning (Retired or laid-off)?
Anyone retired or laid off that gets to run their dogs 4+ times a week, every week? I've got two decent rabbit dogs, but they haven't been run much in the last year. Once a month has been about average. So, I was tossing around the idea of sending these dogs out to someone who can run them with thei...
