My hounds have insulated houses, tin roofs, hound heaters with heated water bowls in their pens.
I have no issue with treating my hunting fur-buddies with some comfort, they work really hard for me and never quit in the dead of winter.

I keep a handheld Long Range Antennae in my truck......It's great insurance if the dogs get too far or during training season if I retreat to the truck-stand in bad weather for a snooze I did use it to locate another groups dogs one time.....the 4 dogs were pounding a hare 2.95 miles away in heavy c...

Nice vid JCM, reminds me of late fall hare hunting before they turn white around here...sometimes we feel bad for them cuz they are just too easy to see against the white background.....it makes some great action

Snowshoe Run, not sure about breeding, I bought one hound from John Kalamaras, Salem, NH and one from Dan Reynolds Plaistow, NH I am a total greenhorn as this is my first attempt at running bunnies but have lots of fun at it......My 7yo 15" female is the leader and my whimpy 13" male seems to go alo...

Go with Garmin; you get what you pay for. Larry x2........I bought into the Garmin setup the first summer the DC-30 came out (IIRC summer 2007?) I use mine every week, other than an occasional collar battery every few years I've had no trouble......the buttons on the receiver are worn completely of...

Silicone dielectric grease on the two terminals ( antennae and gps wire) under the metal cover helps if you are losing signal when the unit gets wet.....autoparts stores have it for sensitive waterproof electrical connections
