Re: pennicillin???

Ivermectin: For a dog weighing 30 lbs., the dose would be 4.5mg, once a day. Depending on the severity of the infection, this may be repeated until the parasites are completely gone. Penicillin: If it's the capsule form, forget it unless it's the only antibiotic you have. A lot of infections are im...

Re: Amoxicillin Question

Dr. Chris, Thanks for your help. When you say a mild dose, do you consider the normal 250 mg. twice a day for ten days mild enough of is it too high of a dose? The dose of amoxicillin in any dog is 10mg per pound {dog’s weight} once every 24 hours. So by doing the math on a 25 pound dog… 10mg x 25 ...

Re: ?SHOT TO BRING FEMALE IN HEAT?

Diethylstilbestrol – {DES} is the most reliable. Administer 5 mg Diethylstilbestrol {DES} for 7 days or until bleeding starts. Give DES 2 more days after bleeding is observed. PG 600 - One dose followed by a second dose in 7 days. {they come in single dose virals} It was noted however, that if it w...

Re: Amoxicillin Question

Antibiotics interfere with bone growth in newborn puppies, such as Penicillin. It is general consensus of most Vets that a mild dose of Amoxicillin will not harm the puppies or dry up your dog's milk. It is not good to use any type of antibiotics, but the risks from conditions like a bladder or bact...

Re: Color ?

In one litter your female’s genes {DNA} dominated the male. In the other breeding the male’s genes dominated your female. More than likely the “dominate” dog in both crosses is more linebred than the other dog it was bred to, or has an "extreme" linebred dog within its pedigree, which make particula...

GPS and E-COLLAR All In One Collar

I was wondering if anybody has bought the SportDog TEK 1.0 GPS+E-COLLAR. It has both the GPS Tracking System and the Shock Collar all on one collar that ranges up to 7 Miles. I have seen and read the ads on it, but I would like to hear from a person that owns one or knows a person that owns one. Is ...

Re: Shipping a dog to Canada?

Jim Lane from Laneline helped me out, he sends hunting beagles to Canada, Mexico and Hunt Club members all over the US. {now this was from last year} He told me that Frontier Airlines, Delta and United Airlines are all airlines that will ship unaccompanied pets in the cargo hold. He also passed on t...

Now that dog is bred right, and has the ingredients to have it all and to reproduce it. Good luck with him

Re: Mark me down for "Butkus Fan" #1 fan

Owl Creek, you have to love that Dingus X Majer stuff. I have had a couple out of Crook, Roxie's littermate and have a male out of Shooter and Crook and I think he's as nice as they come. When Joe told me he was going to breed Roxie (a top reproducing female) to Butkus I had to have one. Not to tak...

Re: Stud Dog Question

If I remember correctly, I believe I read in a hunt result about "Hank Williams" and the owner being Jerry Copeland. And I do believe it was in Kentucky.

Re: Who would you use????

I may or may not do this, but I am thinking about breeding Zena one more time with my fingers crossed. I have had some success with a couple of males, but I want to know what some of your opinions are. I have my own opinions, but I am not above learning if someone has suggestions. Who would you bre...

Re: Butkus fans!!?

Chris, Can you name all 12? Does AKC keep up with the recent FC's out of Studs? I can name 10 of them, but when you get a result from AKC they just include the numbers, they don’t list each Field Champion by name. Green Bay Butkus, Glacier Ridge Renegade, Green Bay Big Booty Judy, Snow Rub Buel, Gr...

Re: Butkus fans!!?

Dr.Chris: Could you list the top 10 producers of all time,as far as (litters vs fc's) by the official akc numbers? I can’t name the top 10, it will take a while for the exact numbers, but I can find out. I will try my best, but there may be some on the list that most really don’t care about because...

Re: Butkus fans!!?

Im sure everyone would agree that Dingus Macrae a 2005 Better Beagling HOF inductee, was a top reproducer I have found he only produced 12 FC's out of 58 litters. Now that diden't come from AKC I got my info from http://www.beaglepedigree.com but im sure it's not off by much if any... Dingus I know...

Re: Butkus fans!!?

Again, I think Shooter is a fine hound, and I know he has produced some nice dogs. But when people start throwing around claims and words such as “legendary”, “record books”, “top sires of all time” or other comparisons, then we are talking about a whole other subject that as of now, as good as Shoo...
