Re: Gearing Down Or Cold Trailing ?

I have had individuals ask why is your dog “cold trailing”? I then look at them and ask “why can’t your dog smell the rabbit”? Now I am not referring to a dog that bows up at the back, stays in one spot and blows a hole in the ground, but I am talking about the hound that actually produces a rabbit ...

Re: Hunt and Search. Genetic or training or both?

On making a good dog in general? It is my experience that it is absolutely both… I have seen some great trainers make good dogs, but the hounds were limited and had a ceiling because their genetics would only take them so far… And I have seen some horrible trainers that did everything you can possib...

My good friend and fellow beagler "Jimmy Walker" Passed away yesterday. Many of you that Field Trialed in the Tennessee area may know him. He was a member of the Ocoee Beagle Club in Cleveland, TN. He trialed in the ARHA. Though he had many champions, those that knew him remember him running "Blacky...

Re: Suggestions for making a cross

With that pedigree and the complimentary traits within the pedigrees, I would go to FC Side Hill Keuka Blue {if still available}. This particular Line-Breeding would insure producing power within the pups. Just my opinion.

Re: Dogs are having seizures. Need some help

If just one dog was doing it, that would be one thing… if two dogs are doing it, it is truly troublesome. If all you’re “unrelated” dogs are doing it? It is "potentially" a very serious thing. There are many things to justify and make one dog have them, like worms, low sugar... including within thei...

Re: Puppy Booster - Dog Probiotic Powder

Thanks Jim ! Who makes it ? It is easy to use, mix 1 tablespoon with 1 gallon water or sprinkle 1 teaspoon over food every 3 days. It states it has a source of live (viable) naturally occurring micro-organisms. Pet Smart sells it for $30.00, here is a link to it and a description of it: http://www....

Re: Need help on pedigree

There are 6 different “Toby” dogs listed in the AKC Stud Books. If you can possibly find your AKC papers and narrow it down to one of these we can possibly get you a pedigree. Really, AKC shouldn’t allow two dogs to be named the same name, especially within the same breed, but they obviously do. Tob...

AKC Stud Books does not have a "Toby Baker", would it be under a slightly different name or a different spelling?
