Re: Need help(dogs foot)

Antibiotics, a real good scrubbing with warm water and peroxide then nu stock AND keep the dog from licking it, the dog is trying to keep it clean but is not helping it any.

Re: How many "Buy and Cry"???

I can understand not wanting to travel a pile of miles to see a dog run multiple times and buying it after the first trip BUT you also have to realize, no one has the same opinion. I only hunt my dogs and have less standards then let’s say wildcat who has been through 260 hounds in 8 years. I have n...

Re: alpha compass pointer

Snowdog, The best thing you could do is try all the updates again, it could be that they did not take the first. do the update for the handheld and collars then re calibrate the compass. If this doesn’t work i would be calling Garmin asap and getting it right.

Re: Just got back from vet...

Freeholler40 i dont think the TT collar is small enough compaired to the SD, the new sd is desinged with a "half moon" desinge rather the big ole block tt and the old sd use. I would go up tight to the chin With the TT.

Good luck

Re: Just got back from vet...

Ya, there is little chance the sport dog system would hurt his legs. Plus it has plenty of power and range. What makes me so angry about this is that I run the DC-40 collars on my male and literally the day you posted your story I was out playin with the dogs and the one who has the garmin has a HU...

Re: Garmin stats...

To get an accurated reading you need to make sure you clear tracks or "Start new hunt" other wise you will end up with yesterdays track spped averaged in along with the ride to home if you leave the units on. 5000, on the link below you will find a pile of hare dog speeds mostly in snow. If you will...

Re: Letter from AKC

I tend to agree with Lone Pine Beagles. The cross with the bassett was probably an accident and whoever owned the bassett probably thought that since the cross with the beagle was made it was ok if the beagle was the first to breed her or either he didn't see the breeding with the bassett. I too ha...

Re: opinions for beginner

The fact that hes doing that good in MAINE, at that age..... sounds like you have a solid bread dog for the conditions. let the pup be a pup and keep feeding him tracks. Dont over do the cage rabbit thing as he will begin to use his eyes more and nose less and will end up starting even slower. keep ...

Re: insulating

the most important things for dogs in the winter is 1, little to no drafts, straw or some good quality AND DRY bedding. i check my dogs bedding often because if the bedding has snow all tracked through it and the snow melts, your dog will be in trouble.
