Re: Can't unload your gun early nowadays....be safe...not sorry.

Had a very similar incident many years ago but it was more EXTREME version. It's a long story but basically a friend, his son and another guy were deer hunting with muzzle loaders, property we hard permission to hunt and had hunted before. A young guy from an adjacent property started shooting from ...

Trashbreaker ?

I have a Tri-Tronics Trashbreaker G3 EXP and I am curious if all G2 and G3 receivers will match up to my transmitter. I have had a couple G2's not work with my transmitter so I was thinking maybe there are models that do not match up.

Re: Female just comes in to heat in the spring

Does age and not being bred before have any bearing on females coming into heat. I have two females that both just turned 8 years old and neither has been bred although I am trying to now. One swelled up a little and bled while the other one did nothing. I tried to have the one that showed signs of ...

Re: Run to catch

a lot of folks think that coon hunting and rabbit hunting are two totally different things but I, have always said they are not. I have done plenty of night trailing, been to a couple beagle trials and the game is pretty much the same other than the size of the hounds. Regardless of size they have t...

Re: Run to catch

That Finley River Jody name brought back many coon hunting memories for me as well. I had two females, way back in the 70's directly out of ole Finley River Chief that were as nice as I had from that point forward. I don't know if this Jody was of that lineage but if so being a nice pleasure hound w...

Re: Run to catch

I agree Shady and the young dogs being in that mix is IMO the best training experience a youngen can get. They are in there for the jump, the run and the prize at the end without man doing anything but allowing them to do what they are bred to do. We also hardly ever shoot a rabbit during gun season...

Re: Outlaw OR Outdoors man?

"I hate to say it but I might as well because in reality I guess I practice it but we must be "politically correct " about hunting our dogs. By this I mean I go out of my way to avoid conflict where ever it may be found, I don't run where the chance of trespass of me or dog is high, don't drop on t...

Re: Outlaw OR Outdoors man?

that is the same law they were having trouble passing in 2016 from what I read. if Indiana has anything similar I have not seen it and would be interested if someone has it. Indiana laws pertinent to dogs and/or hunting are very much different than those in Michigan. Michigan seems to be much more h...

Re: Outlaw OR Outdoors man?

And to top it off, it is illegal in the state in Indiana to remove a collar from a hunting dog that isn't yours. Span870 I live in INdiana and I am not aware of this law! I would like to know more about it! Thanks Frenchman! I live and hunt in Indiana too. I have never heard of this law much less r...

Re: Tale of Two Summers

It hasn't only been the summer but the spring here was one of those that took me forever to even get my garden planted. I had plants in my little greenhouse that were already blooming before I could get them in the ground. Finally got one good day and spent ALL of it getting the garden planted. THEN...

Re: Any big trading shows /events anywhere

Kenton was my big getaway every year starting in 78. I never missed a year until it went under. I was devastated. I saw some really cool and really crazy things. Maxes isn't Kenton but is very cool and fun. It will take you two days to walk through it. Max bought the water races from Eddy Rossy inc...

Re: Any big trading shows /events anywhere

Used to go to the Kenton Nationals every year many years ago. It was huge back then and seemed to grow every year. It evolved to the point they had to have parking across the road. I went with my uncle who bought, sold and traded guns. Went in the truck camper, set up a booth and was there the entir...
