Has any one els seen beagles like this or is it just me thanking their hunting harder over the gun? I hun...

Re: SPORT DOG TRANING COLLARS

in my opinion, sportdog far exceeds tritronics. ive had several sets of TT because thats what everyone said to buy. after TT did not stand behind a 4 1/2 month old set of classic 70 six collar system, i sold them. went and bought sportdog system, and glad i did. i havnt looked back. ive had one coll...

Re: Big Nose ?

BRAINS OR THOUGHT .....His brain along with natural abilities sort through all the info processed by the olfactory system, and cause an action. A definate reaction if the line is hot or caution and patience if marginal. AMOUNT OF SCENT ..........An honest cold trailing hound will determine if suffi...

Re: Big Nose ?

To respond to an earlier question about a hound knowing if a rabbit is up or not. If a hound encounters a random track , he neither knows if the rabbit is up or cares. He is a trailing hound. His brain along with natural abilities sort through all the info processed by the olfactory system, and cau...

Re: Big Nose ?

Guys, I bought a dog off of Jim Lane, big nose, honest mouth, can run in any condition I have put him in, can smell the track when the others can't. Goes in the box every hunt. He's not a fast dog though just med speed but will pull up with the pack, good anchor dog. Those big nose, honest mouth do...

Re: Big Nose ?

I have read all post and I will be honest here. I understand everyone, I understand what Bunnybuster88 is saying and I know he has some really honest mouth hounds and can run a rabbits tail off. There are all kinds of beagles out there for all kinds of conditions. All i can say is if you like what ...

Re: Big Nose ?

wow, ive missed alot. goin to have to keep up with this post more frequently. Lots of assumption here. let me start with Hare Chaser, you assume i spend about half my time listening to my hounds run in spurts or fits struggling to circle the rabbit. wow, why dont you post a video of a superior big n...

Re: Big Nose ?

The hound in question is actually smelling a 6 or 7 hour old track, most folks knowledgeable in really cold weather hunting know what is going on. Scent is a physical thing. it can ,will, and does freeze. As the day progresses and the weather warms the scent is no longer captured, it escapes and is...

Re: Big Nose ?

Let's suppose your driving along at daylight on a mountain road and see a hare track crossing it in 8" of snow....now around 2 in the afternoon you go back to that track and put a dog on it. He opens immediately and starts moving out at a good medium speed pace and has the hare up in 10 minutes or ...

Re: Feed back on barking out of place

sounds as if he has a hard time dealing with the pressure of 6 dogs. If he was a pup (12 months & under) i would say give him a chance, but at 18 months he should be out of this. i personally would not deal with it, but thats just me. So the qeustion is...how much do you like him? that would be your...

Re: Big Nose ?

casey i totally agree, a dogs faults will show no matter where they are dropped. sometimes depending on conditions it may not show as much, but still will show. hope i havnt made anyone mad just speakin my opinion and certainly im not sayin my dogs are better. for how i like to hunt it seems that (o...
