so I can show up with my dogs papers and register for the hunt? Now when it comes to "points towards champion" how does that work? Again, sorry so elementary

I am new to trialing. did some coon hound hunts when I was younger. If there is an ARHA hunt, my dogs have to be ARHA registered? AKC registration isnt enough? What is involved in getting them registered to trial? Sorry, I know it's a little elementary for you guys, but this sounds rediculous to me!
