Re: JRS TOPGUN TYKE -V- GREEN BAY BUTKUS FOR STUD

Not putting your female down, but if your looking for pups that may hunt harder maybe you could find someone with a female that has the hunt your seeking and see if you could buy this female to breed to one of these males, or if someone else has a female they are going to breed to these males that h...

Re: Wake up call!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you made it. Kenny had good advice. But your comment about your boys is great , thoughts like that will help you make it through the changes that may help you. More time with your boys is a great reward for a few changes. Good luck.

Re: Ticks are bad

I have noticed here that in the fall , that the first good frost brings out the deer ticks. Seems to make them active. But have not seen any dog ticks in the fall after a frost.

Re: Training pups to the gun

Sorry , but so far this has worked for me. I haven't had any gunshy dogs yet , that I have raised. I did have a seven month old pup that I bought that was gun shy, the owner said he shot around her with a 22. It took about 3 weeks to get her over the gun shyness. Most of these guys probably have more...

Re: Training pups to the gun

I usually start with a 22 I shoot when just walking with the dog,and watch the reaction to the shot. If no bad reaction I will shoot more shots and watch for any bad signs. If they show no bad reaction then later I will shoot a shotgun around the dog, again watching for any bad signs. If at any time...

Re: Dog Box Marking??

Rabbithunter has the right idea, but also engrave your last 4 numbers of your ss number very small where it can't be seen, or hide it with paint or body putty. Because the first thing the lowlife will do is grind off your welded name. If you see the box you will know it was yours and even if they gr...

Re: ALL DOG FEED GOING UP??

As a lot of dog food contains corn as a main ingrediant, the price of dog food will probably go up as corn prices do. Last week corn in our area was around 8.00 a bushel. The more corn we waste as ethanol only helps make things worse. With all the flooding in some areas and drought in others hurting...

Re: Rabbit Population - Predators

Predators probably play a major role. Hawks and owls probably do the greatest damage. All the other predators can be controlled. Hawks and owls are still protected and are not controlled. In alot of areas the hawks have eliminated the pheasants and greatly reduced other game bird populations as well...
