As I understand the term, the young dog is blown up by being put under pressure by running too much with faster more experienced dogs. This makes the young dog,run real rough, cutting,& skirting pretty much "too competetive" (anything to have the front). I believe it's a term mostly used for trials....

A man in pa bred Branko blood to Thorngap blood and producing FC Nittany Cigar who is a very serious all around rabbit dawg! He is still in Pa. near Pittsburgh and will run the hair off a cottontail.

I'm not sure in Pa. about having your hunting lic. with you but if you get a dog training permit you can carry a gun in the off season.

The dog should be fine inside. Just run 'em as much as possible. Frank, our snow is real spotty now temps have gone up to above freezing,so it's real crunchy in the morning :( We did have 6-7'' as well.The running has been beautiful tho'.Pappy click on the pics to make them bigger. good runnin' all!

If you plan on using this pup for rabbit hunting, I would not recommend letting it find pleasure from ANYTHING deer related.Just my opinion!have fun with your new pardner :D

We've been having some pretty harsh weather here in Pa. and have been noticing the collars dying faster than normal but,I usually have reminded my dogs they are "hot" well before the batteries are too gone so i don't have much trouble.I don't really have to light them up too much any more,just an oc...
