THANK YOU!!! I will reach out to Mr. Snow and see what he has to say.
Just looking for opinions here, but which hound do you think would produce better? Slick? Verswacker? Or Shabang? Or an impossible question to answer? Haha

Re: Close bred Awful Bawlin hounds
What's Shabang's pedigree look like? I haven't heard about that dog. I like Slick's record and blood. Does Mr. Snow sell pups or grown dogs? Especially those directly out of Verswacker, Slick, or Shabang? I'd be interested if there was a solid female on the dam side! Does anyone have Mr. Snow's cont...

Close bred Awful Bawlin hounds
I did some searching but didn't really come up with a definitive answer so here goes. Mr. Monkman (rest his soul) raised some great hounds in the striker/shaker line. I was wondering that since he has passed if anyone had his hounds? Or are there hounds that have Awful Bawlin up close. Especially th...

Re: AKC Midwest Style in Northern Indiana? Maybe a new club?
I live in NW Indiana and would be very interested. There are several F&W areas in the northwest part of the state but I don't know how well they would work out for field trials. Buying or leasing ground along with fencing and all of the facilities required for a club would require a lot of cash. Co...

Re: AKC Midwest Style in Northern Indiana? Maybe a new club?
90% of all midwest trials are ran in the wild. I did not know that. I only knew that Albion's trial was. That is good info to know! Makes it easier to have a good trial without a huge piece of land as the club's running ground. if it didn't fall on a weekend of a NMHA trial you would certainly pull...

Re: AKC Midwest Style in Northern Indiana? Maybe a new club?
There's a couple clubs in lower Michigan, one in southern Indiana and one in Illinois that are all less than 4 hours from you. Starting a club and maintaining one takes some work. Finding members once you do all the work is easy, finding members that will work and help run things is the tough part....

Well, one good thing about no responses, it answers my second question! Must not be a lot of support, or at least not on the board. Thanks for the looks

Re: Best dog boxes... types, brand, price, manufacturer,
I'll be tuned in. I am in the market as well. Just one quick thought I noticed. Owens and Diamond Deluxe (among others probably) have flat latches. Some others, like Seneca, have the bar with latch extended from the door. I like the flat latch at least looks and it seems like it would be nicer just ...

Starting Pen Operation/Training
I'm from northern Indiana and have a few pups to be started. I was thinking of taking them to a guy by the name of Jody C. in the Monticello area. Anyone have any experience with him? I'm not looking to start a gossip column, just wanting to make sure if I contact him and take my dogs there they wil...

AKC Midwest Style in Northern Indiana? Maybe a new club?
I run in UKC trials and also like the Midwest style dogs, but there is only one club remotely close that runs those type of hounds at trials (Albion Beagle Club). There is an abundance of UBGF style clubs in the area, and as we all know they're a little slower than some desire. I am just wondering a...

Re: Tail docking?
John,
Your explanation make sense to me. I didn't think of it that way. My hounds run in mostly open/wooded areas and usually don't get torn up to that extent. Thanks for explaining.
