Re: Looking for some dogs to run for pleasure ,

I much more figured you for, a hound that stands at your feet waiting for another hound to jump one. A hound that in the check stands around whipping it's head around waiting for another hound to get it going again. A hound that avoids the thick stuff and goes to other end hoping to grab the line an...

Re: Kennel Smell

Andre
You will be happy with the results from creolin when you try that. I have tried others, IMO there is no other alternative to using creolin and others from my experience do not keep flying insects away as creolin does. It is definitely a unique aroma, not offensive at all.

Re: Kennel Smell

How much creolin in a gallon sprayer? And whats a good price on a 16oz bottle? Budd I just ordered one off of ebay for $15. I see they have a chart on the side of the bottle telling you how much to use per gallon. I think it was a 1/4 cup per gallon if I remember right but none the less it was on t...

Re: Kennel Smell

I don't understand. You spray the mist inside the kennel, but it is so strong that the person needs to wear elbow long rubber gloves to protect the person. How could it be safe for the dogs? The only reason I say use gloves is if you get any on ya the smell will stay on you for a while. Fumble fing...

Re: Kennel Smell

2 thumbs up on the creolin, i put in a spray bottle and mist it inside the kennels also. Plus just a word of advice, as a precaution make sure you wear elbow length rubber gloves, don't wanna get any on ya. Along with eliminating odors and a great disinfectant, it will eliminate most flying insects ...

Re: Gearing Down Or Cold Trailing ?

likeem, Aren't you curious as to how your hound knows the rabbit isn't up. Think about it. He won't bark until it's jumped when hitting a track, how does he know? How is it possible, Solve this, You know it happens, your dog does it, the track has to be telling him something there is nowhere else f...

Re: Gearing Down Or Cold Trailing ?

Likeem, correct me if I am wrong I am not a field trialer. But it is my understanding that a rabbit doesn't have to be within five miles of an AKC field trial for a hound to be pronounced the winner and receive that big blue ribbon. This could be the win that made the hound a field champion to boot...

Re: Gearing Down Or Cold Trailing ?

Agreed, problem is Field Trialing for the most part does not promote hunt in a hound. Blue ribbons are not given out to a dog that hunts hard.
