Re: RIP Copper

Thanks guys, rabbitatfarm sorry for your loss too. Chuck, I was thinking about the Island today and figured I can be the kennel boy and the "shootest" this season. You may see more of me next rabbit season then ever before as I will need you and your hounds more then ever  Keep your weekends op...

RIP Copper

As many of you already know I lost my other beagle this past week. Copper was 9 years old. Because of the similar symptoms to Max who died in January we have been investigating his death but have determine they are not related and probably just a terrible coincidence. Copper was a hard hunting, tigh...

Re: Running in Taylor MI

Thanks guys,
I am wondering also if it is something that could build up over the long term. I have been going there for abut the past 5 years.

Anyone else that run there have dogs develop internal organ damage?

thanks again

Running in Taylor MI

Anyone running much in Taylor at Ecorse and Monroe? I did some research and found its on EPA cleaning site. Curious if your dogs have had health issues, possibly from the ground contamination. Still looking for answers about my dogs illness.

thanks

Re: Leptospirosis

Thanks for all the replies and kind words. How were the two dogs that died diagnosed ? Thru symptoms or tests. Max was tested but he died before the results came back. They were negative, however I was told that can happen and in many cases they have to be tested more the once to get an "accurate re...

Re: Leptospirosis

Excessive drinking and urinating, loss of appetite, lethargic, but these are symptoms of the organ damage it does. It seems like by the time the symptoms show up its too late. Max was dead in less then 2 weeks after the very first signs of these. My second one I took to the vet as soon as he did not...

Leptospirosis

I have lost my two dogs to Lepto this year. I have another dog and I am wondering what are the chances he is going to have it also. Vets don't seem to know much about this. Please share any experience or info you have about this evil disease.

thanks

Re: Finally some good running

Wow that sounds good to me. I have been out about 3 or four times in the last month on nothing but deep snow, ice and cold. The running was 0. I was going to go today but stayed in and went back to bed. I felt like a real :loser: but I am tired of the cold and 0 running. I checked the forecast and i...

Re: tough conditions tracking

billy boy, What you are describing is not only tough conditions but quick changes in conditions. This happen in Michigan and in my limited experience I found my dogs can run in tougher conditions but they can not go from good to bad overnite. They seem to need an few trips to the woods to dial in to...

Re: Winter...

Last 3 weeks the snow has been so deep (18-24 inches) my old dog wont go through it. I lost my cold nose snow dog about a month ago now my only hope for any good hunting is when things begin to thaw out. Even then I dont know if the old boy has it in him to do much. Max dying and all this snow and c...

MLK Day Annual Rabbit Hunting Extravaganza

Had great weather, great friends, and great donuts. We did a number on the rabbit population with some good dog work and some good shooting. Below is a pic of the days take with all the crew. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/62/559h.jpg But the real reason for our success was our secret w...
