I agree..there was that many rabbits there because of the woodpiles..Don't feel bad I went to a honey hole of mine and ran two red foxes out of it in the first hour..only a couple jumped that day..it used to be full of them.

You can register your hound with NKC. He will have to be inspected by a breed inspector, measured and all that. I think that's what ARHA was founded on..It was a field trial for grade dogs. I think I read that somewhere.

It's a combination of predators and farming habits IMO. I went to a place this year that is usually full of rabbits. The dogs spooked two red foxes out of the woods. Two were jumped that day. Everything eats rabbits.. Snakes, owls, bobcats, house cats, foxes, coyotes, the list goes on and on.

Half a MPH? Some people just try to be precise. Everyone's "speed scale" is different from what I've noticed. Go to rabbitdogs.net they seem to be obsessed with speed of hounds..They post videos and ask what speed there dogs are.

I run a slow dog myself probably a 2 or so.

Wow..Sorry to hear that. I guess murphy's law applies to dogs as well.

I had the same thing happen to a young hound of mine yesterday. He had a gash on the end of his ear, his chest and shoulders were covered in blood. I believe a thorn might have hit a small blood vessel. I wouldn't worry about it, he should be fine to run next weekend..

I bought the overalls and I have no complaints so far. I was really surprised at how well they do against briars..The material doesn't feel as tough as some of the briar pants that I have had, but no scratches yet, I don't think a briar could get through them anywhere.
