Re: Help save dog training ground

Here is something I have been thinking about that they may (ODNR) may understand. I would have all the clubs and houndsmen call and make it clear to them the loss of revenue to the state and small towns. They may not realize the amount of monies that are spent by houndsmen when the travel from other...

Re: Attention: ohio dog runners

Do not wait on this guys. Once they change it almost never goes back. ALL dog hunters should band together and start an association to help get your voices heard. Thankfully here in michigan we have the bear hunters association that gives all sporting dog owners a voice as well as giving support to ...

Re: Garmin, Whats your take?

I upgraded this past January from the wildlife it is aweful nice but it does have some draw backs. 1. If you have a hound that needs correcting you have to scroll through the screens to get correct hound then adjust sensitivity before correction. Re: 13" throwing 15"?

Years back i had problems keeping all pups bigI would breed to males that had small dogs up close in pedigree. I now breed with those that only carry large dogs in pedigree and I am not having nearly as many smaller sizes.
Now that i have said this I have just jinxed myself?

Re: Litter costs

Not to mention just pups but, adult dogs. I have had alot of calls over past years looking for running , deer proof hounds and been told $300 is alot of money they were looking in the $100 range.
This just baffles me. There just isnt money in beagles.

Re: Distance Between Yourself and Hounds

I run mostly cottontail and hare on occasion . If running a pack of hounds i let them get out and work and do thier jobs. If running 1 i stay closer because that hound is being closely evaluated. When running i try to stay where i can see lines so i know who is doing good and bad. I will say since i...
