Re: Branko's Pretty Freckles

Freckles was a powerfully built, full 15" bitch, and finished her championship in the Maritimes in Canada. She was a dominate, front end type hound, and produced some good hounds for Branko. Terry McBride

Re: Favorite Branko dog.

Most beaglers have never seen too many of Branko's bitches run, and while Heli-Prop was the best male I've probably ever seen (Branko or otherwise), some of his bitches that were absolutely rabbit machines were, FTCH Branko's Rock and Roll, IFC Branko's Sassy Sally (especially on snow) and FTCH Bran...

Re: threejay's jack's fast

For your own interest, no littermates of this hound finished in Canada. You may have been told this but you were misinformed. Sorry, Terry McBride, Ontario Canada (I checked my records of all trials in Canada, and then asked the breeder, Jack Blum, at a trial yesterday)

Re: excellent bred brood female

John Moynihan from Ontario just posted (this morning Fri. 16th) 3 brood bitches maybe 7-8 yrs. old. One is by IFC Haunted Hill Shaker out of Branko's Sweet Christie (and would you believe, Christie is a sister to IFC Branko's Heli-Prop) Another one is by IFC Haunted Hill Shaker by Runstedler's Rebec...

Re: Danny VanSickle

Well, we're awful lenient on outlaws here in Canada, so we'd probably just keep him here :)

Dan, I see you're looking to take a trip up north to run your hounds. Why not try them on hare in a Canadian Large Pack Hare Trial? Oshawa Beagle club in Ontario is only 12 hours from your place, and an easy drive if you've got company. Our trial date is May 17/18th. We've got great running grounds ...

Re: You're Invited To A Canadian Hare Trial!

I've never had any trouble crossing the border with hounds. All you need is a current rabies certificate, but it's a good idea to bring the hounds registration papers, just to prove who it belongs to. I was once asked to prove the hound was mine (that I hadn't bought it in the USA) and I didn't have...

You're Invited To A Canadian Hare Trial!

You'll be welcomed at a LPH trial at the oldest CKC Beagle Club In Canada, May 17 (13") and May 18 (15"). We've got two, 100 acre fenced areas with some of the best grounds in Canada. Your hounds will pound from start to finish. We have all day trials, but the running is usually so good that they're...

Re: KY Reggie x FTCH McBride's Lucky Pearl or Starlet

I found the fellow who has the Pearl pup (in Missouri) and now if I can find the owner of the Starlet pup, I'll be happy. Thanks to those who contacted me about the Pearl pup. These boards are a great way to communicate. I remember years ago when I had a litter by FTCH Getemout Jim Beau and my FTCH ...

KY Reggie x FTCH McBride's Lucky Pearl or Starlet

I know it's a long shot, but would anyone know the present owners of two hounds about 8 months old by IFC KY Reggie. One of these is out of FTCH McBride's Lucky Pearl and the other out of FTCH McBride's Starlet. Both are blue tick. I bred them and gave the pick of the litters as stud fees, but they ...

Re: opening early is it cold trailing

If it was mine, and he opened up and tongued for 100 yds before another hound could open, and then the other hounds opened and the run was on, I'd be pretty proud of him. Call it "cold trailing" or whatever you want to call it, I call it "producing game". If I was judging a trial and this happened, ...

Re: FC Turbo Charged Thunder Blue

Yes, we had a record amount of snow here in Ontario, and it's even far worse in other parts of Canada. At the trial I took Thunder to in Quebec, we witnessed lots of buildings, homes etc. totally collapsed from the weight of the snow. Hundreds of people were on their roofs, shovelling. More than one...

Re: FC Turbo Charged Thunder Blue

I thought I'd answer this so you get it "straight from the horse’s mouth". I'm running and handling him here in Ontario. He's not doing well in the trials. He's been in 3 and only got one 4th place. The trials have been in brutal conditions, with deep snow, old snow, icy snow , etc. and Thunder hasn...
