Re: pups whelped in a hole
i would say mother nature knows best, i think your task at hand is to figure out why she perfers the hole to the whelping box. in my opinion she is just going to move them back to the hole.

Re: flea and tick collars .
i have never used the purple tags myself but run with guys who have. they had a few dogs whos kidneys shut down and and their vet seems to think this might be a contributung factor. like stated above enough to treat 1000 lbs on a 30 lb animal. I am hearing good reports on the preventic collars.

Re: Dealing with the heat
agree with everything posted above.. I also have seen a bloodline in my opinion that does not take heat well. dogs look like a million bucks when its cold but when the temp gets 75 plus they are about worthless.

Re: new garmin product
Crow you hit the nail on the head. I have been using it like this for over a year with no issues, only thing I'd you have to slip it over their head but that hasn't been an issue. I have one really small female and never noticed it hitting her legs, I always run my tracking collars in front of their...

Re: new garmin product
yes i will try to post a pic. Basically you put the buckle on the side that has the antenna instead of the open side where it comes from the factory. to do this the d ring must be removed.

Re: new garmin product
the collars will shrink down to almost nothing if you re route the collar strap. take it off the collar and start it in the side of the reciever that runs up to the gps, then route it through where you would normally buckel the collar and through the holder below the gps reciever. you now have to sl...

BRANKO'S COOL TRIXIE Question
Is trixie still alive? from what i see she must have been a reproducer. how many times was she bred and to what dogs? I believe she was breed to spot, rider and doc watson, was there any more?

Re: DO YOU THINK SHE IS BREED??
if its her second heat cycle i wouldnt worry much about it. i have seen many females bred on their second heat with no complications. its the ones who get it at six months old on their first heat cycle that usually have problems. if it were my dogs id probably be expecting to have pups.

Re: success in snow
i will try in deep snow. usually dont do much good in over six to eight inches. rabbits dont want to run. What usually stops us is when ice builds up and the dogs break through and cut the dogs up.

wirehaired pointing griffon
My wife and i are considering getting a griffon for a family/hunting dog. I am having a hard time finding a breeder in my area and was hoping some one knows some one who breeds them that they can point me to. I know this is not a easy breed to find . Just hoping some one can help me out.

i think this post will only get better if someone chimes in about dog food or reggie reproducing.Newt wrote:It does entertain while we are shut in by "Climate Change".adirondackjoe wrote:i've been reading these posts for a week and i STILL have no idea what's going on. still its better than watching re-runs of i love lucy.
