I love to hear a bawl mouthed dog drive a bunny. The mother of my young female has a bawl mouth and I am a loss as to how the high pitched voice came about. Sure hope it changes with experience and age.

Thanks for your comments. They give me hope that her "big dog voice" willl come about. At the rate she is progressing huntwise, she will be one nice hound. Just needs to find her mouth.

I have a young female that runs and packs well. When she barks in the kennel, her voice is a strong, clear chop. When running, she has a high pitched yip. I think that she just too excited about the track. Wondering if her running voice will change as she gets older.

IMO, the answer is; "Some fool with $14,000.00 disposable funds that is willing to spend it on a Beagle".
Same opinion for a $1,000.00 dog.

Training dogs, in season or out, with or without a gun, requires a Hunting License in the State of Arkansas. Running domesticated bunnys in a starter pen is the exception. In view of the contridictory information furnished to some runners, it would be best to buy a license. I would bet a Game Warden...

It is virtually impossible to answer the question for several reasons. One shoe does not fit all, so a test would be required to determine the answer specifically for your pack. The test would have to be made over a period of time with the same dogs, same location, same age, fed in the same manner, ...

It may well be that the bunnys developed this habit as the result of being chased by yotes and fox.
