Re: Field Trial Ponderings
Tried that a couple years ago. I was utterly shocked by stud owner after owner that I talked to that wouldn't run in typical mid winter hunting conditions in Michigan. Most would say my dogs already proven himself or we can go when the weather warms up. I also believe if the desire is to better the ...

Acorn and Walnut are the nick names they gave my two boys at the trials.
Yes, I'm in Germany for 1 more month, then headed to Wisconsin for my last tour. Buying a house with property that I don't plan on leaving.

Field Trial Ponderings
Posted this on the other site but expect different perspectives here... When it comes to field trials and crowning the champions have any of you ever wondered why we "test" the hounds in near ideal conditions in the spring and fall? I think most would agree the goal is produce better hunting dogs. I...

Re: Running pen question
Tim,
I'm sure they will beat down my door to cut brush and pound stakes.
I have pretty abrasive personality....anyone that sticks around me very long has thick skin and doesn't think their dogs walk on water. If they can put up with my bluntness I'll do them right.

Running pen question
Planning to build an 80 acre enclosure. What are the pro's / con's to burying the fence approximately 6" versus having an apron. Likely going with a 17 guage vinyl coated wire. My thought is not bending the wire 90 degrees would be less stressful on the wire, wouldn't have to cover the apron and try...

Re: Value Pack dog food
Temperance goes a long ways in sustaining a marriage. I think what leads relationships to a "dogs go or I go" attitude is the lack of temperance. If Every time your forced to prioritize between dogs and wife, God, kids or work you always choose dogs you might need to consider selling the dogs. If al...

Re: Value Pack dog food
After you process, package, ship dog food, let distributor make some money Im guessing they must pay about $3 for the ingredients that go into a 50# bag. You can't buy 50# of dirt for $3. BTW, I just give my dogs water. They seem to be doing great. No kennel barking, they seem to sleep more. NO stoo...

Re: Need a source for Sericea
Forgive my ignorance, why would you want it in the hull? Why would you mow it? With it being sand would you hit it with lime and perhaps 20/20/20 fertilizer to make sure its gets a good start. Also, what is optimum month to plant. If it's expensive seed I assume soil prep to maximize seed. When you ...
