load usage
Was wondering what type of loads y'all use rabbit hunting. I shoot 7 1/2 shot size with an ounce of powder mostly. Shoot sixes if hunting a real nasty thicket of something.

Re: rabbit season upon us all!!!!!!!
Like to get 20 or so. More interested if seeing my dogs don't get a little better though, as I will give majority of the rabbits taken to hunting partners, or to a couple.folks I know that can't get out amymore that enjoy the taste of a fresh bunny.

Re: Proposed Indiana rabbit season dates
not in Indiana but a shorter season may help the population. Next door here in Illinois it's the natural predators that are hurting them. Any rabbit hunters by Mr.Vernon or Evansville?

looking for....
Wanting a dog that has no quit in him/her. I'm not concerned about speed. Hunt and line control is all I'm after. Planned on breeding my female, but after the last couple times out, don't know if getting a put out of her is worth a shot.

Re: Beagles worse than. 20 years ago
I think it lies in the FC title. Always loved rabbit hunting, never been to a trail. I've hunted with trail dogs a field champions, and not to brag, none could hang with the two dogs I had back in high school. Let me ask you guys this. I have a couple Hounds and Hunting magazine. I never realized th...

kennel size
After I decide what two I'm for sure keeping, (after hunting season). I want to build a new kennel. Right now they are in a 10x10 dog pen. Thinking of building g one up of the ground though. If I go that route, how big should I build them for each dog?

Re: rough running what will help
I don't have time to solo them all equally. Have four dogs that all need more running. Instead of have one larger pack always messing up on checks, I've broke em up in pairs. Seems to help out a lot, first week for it though.

thought of getting a bark collar, was kind of worried it might affect his opening up on track though. Guess that's not usually a problem?

mouthy dog
Given a dog by a guy that field trails, didn't make his cut because he is a little mouthy. Said I could try him at a decent they are having in a couple months, just to try my luck. What's the best way to break this? It's usually soon as we get out close to cover at the start of a running session. Af...
