you can also try http://www.espomagazine.com and look for people/clubs in your area. There are so many types of rabbit dogs out there, and even more opinions on them. Go watch as many run as you can! You wont, oops, dont expect, your first dog to be "THE ONE". But its a start in an addictive adventu...

I agree, start with an older dog. maybe not "finished" but one that is running good. I'd look in the 2-3 y/o range. Dogs in that age you still have a chance to correct SOME bad habits. Then get yourself a pup to run with the older dog.

$$$$ will depend on what you want and who you get it from

I've started using "Pet Tabs". they are a vitamin tablet purchased at any pet store. I've noticed a difference in mine. I usually give it 2-3 times a week. Especially the day before and the day of a hard run. They can be expensive, but i've noticed a difference. I think I paid 25.00 for 180 tablets....

I posted earlier that I had put the band on my dogs tail... 3 weeks to the day I was wiggling the dead part and pop, it came off in my hand. Tiny bit of blood at point of disconnect, put a little "neosporin" for dogs on it. Just a few days later and it looks great. I'll never pay for a docked tail. ...

Many people do not see this as a problem. Many want the dog to join in the race and "pack up" with the other hounds. Then go run the other one after the first one is finished. Why didnt the other dogs pack in with him? Are they running their rabbit first, then the young dog goes off on his/her own a...

Jeff and I are hunting buddies, and with his success I tried the band. Put it on a week ago yesterday... The tail looks like it could fall off at any time. Its flat, dead and hard as a rock. Looks like a dead earthworm on the sidewalk! Also have run the dog 2-3 times since putting on the band... not...

I didnt think you could use E-collars in trials... Thats always been my understanding anyway. I wont go hunting without an e-collar on mine. Not that I think they'll take off on off game, but they have. Actually spent hours walking last saturday not finding a rabbit. They found a fox and burned his ...

I enjoyed the game last night. Not a fan of either team, but a great football game was played. Not that both teams played superb, but it made for a great game. Louisville is the better team, when they play to their potential. I kinda liked seeing rutgers win, but at the same time wanted louisville t...

If the dog doesnt bark and claim the track, how can you score him/her for it? I agree the other dog stole the points, but gets them regardless.

how do you know "C" pulled the dogs out of the check area? Isnt it very possible A and B over-ran the track? If B takes off with the track from the "check" area, AND can keep it going, then score B for the check. (assuming the other dogs hark in, as they are supposed to) I dont agree with minusing a...
