Re: Is it time for an e-collar?
Good to hear! I will defiantly look into how, when, and where to use the e-collar. We haven’t been running her lately because of the heat but it’s already August and soon the cooler September weather will be coming our way, so we hope to start running her in the cool mornings, whenever they decide t...

Is it time for an e-collar?
In the house my beagle is awesome! She listens well, comes as soon as you call her, she is super smart, and I taught her a whole bunch of neat little tricks. :D However, when outside she must be kept on a lease, in a kennel, or on a tie out. If not, she takes herself hunting! There is no way of gett...

Re: Got in a Nest of Baby Ticks
For any bug ich I use Bite and Sting Relief (I just have the Rite Aid brand thats our local pharmacy)
It works fast and lasts pretty long!
As long as it has Benzocaine (my stuff is 5.0%) it should work

Re: Color Question...
Beautiful up on straight legs female. One thing we look for in a rabbit dog it the rabbit fur color on the top of the shoulders where the neck joins and she seems to have some of that. Mark of the rabbit in their blood! Hmmm.... the more I am on here the more I really wish I didnt get her fixed :ro...

Color Question...
Can someone explain beagle colors a little better? I have a tri color, and when I got her she was super dark, I know they fade, but do they all fade? Everyone LOVED her black 'cap' and as soon as she started turning I knew she would loose it, though everyone else wanted her to stay dark! :???: Can Y...

Re: I hate to do this........
FSL, you gave me an idea. I have always wanted to reload but never found the time. I will buy all the stuff and get my Honey to do it. the only downside to my wife of 15 years being into beagling and the outdoors is that I have two hounds that are family that aren't as good as I would normally keep...

Re: I hate to do this........
This is fun post so far... we all love our partners and hope that most have the oppertunity to take them with when running hounds as I do, but be aware that one day it will be expected that they go... not just an oppertunity to do so... and then your in trouble. I guess my guy has me pretty well tr...

Re: I hate to do this........
Story Time from a Girls View Point: My boyfriend was always away hunting. I did not like hunting, though I ate all game meat, I was gun shy and had no interest in hunting what so ever. I didn’t like that he was out hunting as much as he was and I complained but I wasn’t too bad, it was his life, I k...

sorry i thought you were in nw pa. i run at a 100 acre tree farm. We have a number of places to go... Actually, we lucked out around here, it seems like all the older farmers grew up with beagles, but no longer have them and they just love when we bring her over and let her loose... everyone comes ...

Re: My Beagle, Need some guidance/advise...
She is also a little slow to start opening up... She always yipped when on a rabbit (like someone was stepping on her haha) however was almost a year old before she sounded more like a 'real' beagle... is this normal? She howls, barks, and gets loud when she is on a rabbit now, but around the house ...

My Beagle, Need some guidance/advise...
My beagle is a 13” petite little beagle. She is a little over a year old now… We got her last August and she has been ‘running’ rabbits since we got her at 9 weeks old. (Granted she wasn’t doing a whole lot back then but she gave it heck!) She does great so far, last season she was still really litt...
